With today’s launch of the latest title update for Grand Theft Auto V, users now have access to several new in-game challenges just from being in the open-world portion of the game’s online multiplayer mode. While detailing the new Freemode Events that are now available across all current-gen versions of GTA Online, the Rockstar Newswire blog revealed that the new content is intended to give players access to greater variety of activities within the game.
To celebrate the launch of GTA Online‘s Freemode Events update, Rockstar Games is giving out bonus cash payouts within the game for those who try out the newly added Freemode Events. Gamers who take part in just five of the Freemode activities from now through this Sunday will receive an extra $50,000 to spend within GTA Online. Futhermore, all qualifying participants will also unlock an special in-game t-shirt that is exclusive to this week’s promotion.
“Complete any 5 of these brand new GTA Online Freemode Events between Tuesday, September 15th and Sunday, September 20th to get GTA$50,000 bonus in-game cash plus an exclusive Vapid t-shirt. Offering more details on this week’s Freemode Events promotion for Grand Theft Auto Online on their official support website, the developer further specified exactly how fans will earn the bonus cash and clothing unlocks. Rockstar Games clarified that players will receive the rewards for finishing any five Freemode Events. Additionally, all rewards will be rolled out to players next week.
“The 5 Freemode Events completed do not need to be different from one another. The same Freemode Event could be completed 5 times. The awards will be granted starting on September 21 but not all players will receive the bonuses at the same time. The date when all the awards are complete depends on the number of qualifying players.”

Rockstar Games already revealed that the GTA Online Freemode Events update will only be available to download on current-gen consoles. In a updated comment to the community, the developer once again stated that system limitations of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 simply prevent any more content being added to the game.
“As there isn’t enough memory available to add to the game on the older systems, we cannot make any more meaningful content updates without putting the entire game at risk.”
Today’s new Grand Theft Auto V title update also finally brought the Rockstar Editor to consoles, allowing Xbox One and PS4 owners the chance to create their own custom videos. The ongoing success of GTA Online has helped Rockstar Games continue to support the game through free content updates such as the one released this week. In fact, as the Inquisitr reported earlier this week, the developer has revealed that they currently haven’t even started working on single-player story DLC since GTA Online has become the team’s only priority at this time.
