Fantasia Unrecognizable at Idol Finale

It’s been a long ride for the troubled R&B singer Fantasia, who was season 3’s winner of American Idol. Last night  if you missed the singer crooning on the Idol finale it was probably due to her unrecognizable appearance. Fantasia, showed up to the event’s red carpet, almost having a wardrobe malfunction while clad in a tight iridescent dress that looked like a few Fraggle Rock characters needed to be killed in order to make.

Fantastia showed up at the event and took the stage to sing gospel song “Take Me To The Pilot” with fan and Idol contestant Joshua Ledet. The song saw Fantasia changing outfits into a curvy hugging catsuit, showing off the drastic transformation her body has taken on in the last year.

One fan even commented on a message board saying, “Last night Fantasia looked like she was performing at a NC local club performance and not a national televised performance. It’s bad when an artist is limited, and gets moved above her initial start in the business. Fantasia needs to change her surroundings and management, regroup and come back stronger than ever.”

In recent years Fantasia has had a series of set backs in her career as well as her personal life.  In 2010 Fantasia was hospitalized due to an overdose, which was ruled as an attempted suicide when it came out she was having an affair with a married man. In that same year, Fantasia was accused of being a home wrecker and was slapped with a lawsuit by her lover’s soon to be ex-wife, Paula Cook.

Her transformed appearance may be due to the singer giving birth last August to her second child. The father at this point hasn’t been revealed.
