‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past Rogue Cut’ Cast Almost Had This Fan Favorite In It — Will We See Him In ‘Deadpool 2’?

The X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut cast brought more footage that wasn’t seen in the theatrical version, including an entire sub-plot involving Rogue. It is unknown why Anna Paquin’s character was cut entirely from the original version, other than possibly for time.

Having been missing from the original film, Anna Paquin’s scenes were all added back for the Rogue Cut, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. Her role ended up being rather important, but I won’t spoil it if you haven’t seen it.

The film was Bryan Singer’s way of rebooting what Brett Ratner had done with X-Men: The Last Stand, bringing back a collection of fan favorites, even if for a minor cameo. Again, saying who returns would be a major spoiler, so watch the movie to find out.

As mentioned above, the X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut cast included one possible character who had been mentioned but never officially cast. Some fans claim he was actually in it, as Movie Pilot suggests, but Cable was considered too big a character to introduce in an ensemble film.

Fans of the character know that Cable (Nathan Summers) was not only the son Cyclops, but he has been regularly paired with a certain “merc with a mouth.” One of his most distinguishing features is the lack of one eye, which was replaced with a cybernetic implant due to a techno-organic virus that Apocalypse infected him with. A character early in DOFP was shown to be missing an eye and believed to be Cable.

There is also the possibility that time travel was something already being used, and too many mutants capable of it would be too much. For that reason, Cable may have been nearly cut out, and Bishop’s own time travel powers were taken away in consideration for the X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut cast.

With the fan-demanded Deadpool movie release date set for February 12, the cast has already been mostly decided, including a possibly recast Colossus. However, no Cable was mentioned even in the cast.

According to Screen Rant, Deadpool director Tim Miller hinted at Cable appearing in much more than the X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut cast cameo. He mentioned that Cable might get a full origin story and be featured in Deadpool 2.

“I went through the list of Marvel characters and picked a few others I thought could be visually spectacular and fun. And at the end of that list was Negasonic, which I just thought was a freaky, funny name. And I sent this list over to the writers, Rhett and Paul, and they were like, ‘[We] have to use her!’… She turned out really well. There aren’t really many definitive Deadpool villains, apart from Cable. If we don’t put Cable in Deadpool 2 I think we’ll be run out of town on a rail.”

Do you think this potential X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut cast member might finally be featured in Deadpool 2?
