Ben Affleck Gives ‘Heartfelt’ Apology To Jennifer Garner Over Nanny Scandal?

The whirlwind that has plagued Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner since announcing their split after 10 years of marriage was made all the more awful by claims Affleck had carried on an affair with the former nanny to their three children.

The couple has been seeking counselling for their circumstance, and although there is no indication that the two will reconcile, reports state Ben is owning up to his wrongdoings in regards to his interactions with nanny Christine Ouzounian. Radar Online reports that an insider passed along information regarding the relationship Affleck and Ouzounian carried on. However, the source claims that the relationship only started once Jen and Ben had, in fact, split. The insider relayed apparent information communicated since the couple began counselling.

“Ben took responsibility for his relationship with their former nanny, Christine Ouzounian. The relationship had started after the couple had already split up, but Jen was humiliated when the relationship went public.”

The publication continues to share that Affleck and the nanny became confidantes to one another as the drama brought on by the split unfolded.

“Christine often complained to Ben that Jen was being overly critical of her work with their three kids. Jen had felt that she was being unfairly attacked by Ben, and couldn’t understand why at the time. They were trying to co-parent their kids but Ben was just being a real bear to deal with. Now she realizes what was really going on.”

Although Garner and Affleck have been attending lengthy counselling sessions to work through their issues, insider’s indicate that there is no possibility of reconciliation. The counselling is to simply allow the two to remain amicable for the sake of their three children, Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Samuel, 20 months. During the most recent session, a source shares that Affleck was apologetic in regards to the manner in which the nanny scandal was revealed.

“Ben was truly sorry when he apologized to Jen, and she thought it was a very good step moving forward.”

Garner has coped remarkably well with the difficult circumstances she has faced as of late. The Daredevil star is also reportedly relieved by the split in a way, as the source continues to relay.

“[N]ot having to be Ben’s mother has been a huge relief for her, and she is finally able to focus on her life.”

As People shares, Jen and Ben are still managing to find happiness in one another’s company for the sake of their children. The couple spent a fun family day all together on Sunday and appeared to be relaxed and content.
