‘Dancing With The Stars’ Champ Rumer Willis Delays Broadway Debut Again

Dancing With the Stars champion Rumer Willis is reportedly delaying her Broadway debut for the second time. The actress and dancer was going to make her debut as Roxie Hart in Broadway’s Chicago on Monday, September 14.

Unfortunately, Rumer Willis will have to sit out her performance for now. The DWTS winner is still recovering from multiple fractures on her foot. Willis took to Twitter to let her fans know that it’s not tonight, but next week that she’s making her big Broadway debut.

Rumer hinted that she had another “important place” to be on Monday night. What place could that be, you ask? The Season 21 premiere of Dancing With the Stars also premiered on Monday night. Rumer was seen sitting in the audience as she cheered on the performances.

The daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore took to Instagram to share a reposted photo of herself with Danica McKellar. Rumer included the following caption: “So excited to support @iamvalc with @ruelarue at the premiere of @dancingabc!!” Rumer was photographed in a stunning white silk halter and matching swing skirt.

Prior to her appearance at Dancing With the Stars, Rumer Willis also made an appearance at New York Fashion Week over the weekend. She sat front and center at the Zac Posen show. Rumer was photographed wearing a black mesh dress with black slides and a graphic print clutch. She kept her makeup and accessories minimal, as she styled her signature dark hair to the side.

Willis is the winner of Season 20 of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. She has already made her mark with her off-Broadway appearances in Baz Luhrmann’s DBA, For the Record Live’s Dear John Hughes; and Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Willis also made several on-screen appearances on the Diary of Preston Plummer, Hawaii 5-0, House Bunny, Pretty Little Liars, Songbyrd, and Sorority Row.

As for her Broadway debut, she will play at the Ambassador Theater from now through Sunday, November 1, 2015. Rumer will play alongside Amra-Fay Wright as Velma Kelly, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron “Mama” Morton, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, Ryan Silverman as Billly Flynn, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Chicago follows the story of Roxie Hart, housewife by day, night club dancer by night. She murders her secret lover after he leaves her. To avoid a conviction, she hires Chicago’s best criminal lawyer to turn her crime into a Hollywood story.
