Did Jana Duggar Hint That She’s Ready For A Husband And Kids In Family Video?
Jana Duggar says that she wants to be just like her mother, Michelle Duggar, someday. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old who still lives at home with her parents, she’s running out of time to get married and give birth to over a dozen kids.
According to the International Business Times, Jana Duggar and most of her siblings celebrated Michelle Duggar’s 49th birthday in a very public way by sharing their well wishes on the Duggar Family website. Instead of editing the birthday wishes together into one video, the family decided to post 10 separate videos, most of which were under 20 seconds long. Jana’s birthday video was one of the most noteworthy of the bunch because it will likely make Duggar fans pity her.
“So grateful for you,” Jana says in the video below. “You are my hero in life and I hope to be like you someday.”
The video also features Joy-Anna Duggar.
Some critics and fans of 19 Kids and Counting were once hopeful that Jana Duggar would decide that she didn’t want to follow in Michelle Duggar’s footsteps by becoming a jobless baby-making machine who lives to serve her husband. They hoped that Jana would grow tired of her parents’ patriarchal Christian views and their rule that all daughters must live at home until they get married.
In March of this year, OK! Magazine claimed that these fans’ prayers had been answered — the tabloid alleged that “Cinderella Duggar” was looking into enrolling in a Christian college. Had Jana done this, she would have been the first Duggar daughter to leave home for school instead of getting married and having kids.
Unfortunately, the OK! report proved to be untrue, and Jana Duggar is still living on the Duggar compound. Many fans think it’s unfair that Jana has spent most of her life working as her parents’ unpaid babysitter, and now it looks like she’s being loaned out to other family members with babies. When Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard came back home for Amy Duggar’s wedding, Jana was tasked with taking care of Israel, the couple’s 5-month-old son.
“So nice to have our sweet Dillards home for a visit. As you can see Israel has decided he loves Aunt Jana! He even got his first piano lesson!!!” the Duggars captioned the photos below that were posted on the Duggar Family Official Facebook page.
According to OK! Magazine, Jana was photographed carrying Josh and Anna Duggar’s infant daughter, Meredith, at Amy’s wedding. OK! claims that she was also put in charge of keeping an eye on her younger brothers at the event. Jana is smiling in the candid wedding photos taken by the paparazzi, but one source close to the Duggar family claims that she isn’t as happy as she always appears to be.
“She looks so tired and worn down sometimes,” the Duggar insider told Radar Online. “You can’t help but feel bad for her, having to take on all that responsibility at a young age. It’s like she’s been a parent ever since she was 13!”
The Duggars have even shared photographic evidence of just how long Jana has been providing her free babysitting services. The photo below was recently posted on the Duggar Family Facebook page, and it shows 6-year-old Jana bottle-feeding her infant brother Josiah.
If Jana Duggar was serious when she said that she wants to be just like Michelle Duggar someday, perhaps that was her subtle way of letting her parents know that she’s tired of taking care of other people’s kids and would rather focus on starting her own family. What do you think?
