According to the Los Angeles Times, the boy, identified as Wesley Hilaire, was reportedly abducted by an unknown man on Saturday evening. The abduction happened during a family outing in the Mission Bay area of San Diego. The Amber alert page for the boy adds that the abduction happened at around 7:30 p.m., local time.

Police officials have said that Wesley was last seen with a black man, aged around 40 and nearly 6 feet tall. The man weighed around 235 pounds, and was wearing a gray t-shirt. As for the boy, he was wearing red shorts and no shirt. The boy is 4 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs 40 pounds. An image of the boy has also been posted on the Amber alert web page.

Anyone with information regarding this have been asked to call the San Diego police, (619) 531-2000.

Users on social media have already started an effort to safely locate Wesley. Below are a few tweets from individuals who are helping to find the abducted boy.

A CBS News report revealed the location where Wesley was last seen.

The news of this Amber alert comes close on the heels of another Amber alert that had been issued just a day ago for in Pueblo, Colorado, for a 7-year-old girl, Rylee Nicole Lewis, and her grandmother. Thankfully, hours after the Amber alert was issued, Rylee was located and safely found. Her grandmother, Joy Forsythe, was arrested by police in connection with that abduction.

The Amber Alert program happens to be a voluntary partnership between law-enforcement agencies, broadcasters, transportation agencies, and the wireless industry, to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases. As described on its website, the goal of an Amber Alert is to instantly galvanize the entire community to assist in the search for, and the safe recovery of, the child.

Everyone hopes the 4-year-old is safely located very soon.
