‘The Flash’ Season 2: Whether Or Not Harrison Wells Will Show Up Has Been Answered [Spoilers]

Those who missed the Season 1 finale of The Flash, be forewarned of the spoilers ahead.

Harrison Wells, who was not a DC Comics character, was an integral part of The Flash Season 1. Harrison Wells ended up being the Reverse-Flash, yet he was not, because Eobard Thawne simply stole his likeness. Either way, in The Flash Season 1, Wells’ character was an important part of the surprise reveal of the Reverse-Flash. Tom Cavanagh, who is cast in Season 2, hasn’t revealed what identity his character will take on. According to Comicbook.com, producer Gabrielle Stanton might have the answer.

“Harrison Wells will be back, but he’s going to be a very different Harrison Wells than we’ve seen before. We’ve got other worlds. We’ve got other timelines. All I’m going to say is he’s from one of those places.”

Tom Cavanagh wouldn’t give up the goods when he was pressed for more answers, according to a previous report by the Inquisitr, regarding whether or not Harrison Wells or Eobard Thawne would be returning in Season 2.

“It ended up being a big part of our season finale. I think we employed that device of using Harrison Wells to do that last year. And I think this year we’ll try a different tactic, but in some ways they’re not too dissimilar from one another.”

The Flash Season 2 will include the character of Dr. Wells, per Stanton’s quote, but will Eobard Thawne be making an appearance? Cavanagh seems to imply that both characters might be showing up in Season 2. Based on that theory, it would stand to reason that some kind of Reverse-Flash appearance could be likely, and not just the Zoom iteration.

With the return of Wells, and potential return of Reverse-Flash, it certainly begs the question as to whether Eddie Thawne could also make a Season 2 appearance. Though there hasn’t been a confirmation, Eddie Thawne could turn out to be Cobalt Blue in Season 2. Fans have been speculating the Eddie-Cobalt Blue connection after catching a glimpse of the the necklace he wore in the final scenes of The Flash Season 1 finale. The rumors continue as an unusual blue streak is showing up in The Flash Season 2 promo videos.

If nothing is introduced into the DC TV Universe without reason, the necklace certainly appeared to have a Reverse-Flash ring. After the singularity that opened all these other worlds, anything is possible.

Are you excited to hear of the head of Star Labs will return? Will Eobard Thawne or Cobalt Blue be making an appearance, or is it simply misdirection? Leave your thoughts.
