Rihanna’s Album Delayed Because Of Travis Scott? Fans Blame Singer’s New Romance For ‘R8’ Delay

Rihanna and Travis Scott may be spending a lot of time together lately, but could the rapper be to blame for the delayed release of Rihanna’s new album?

According to fans who have been patiently awaiting any news regarding Rihanna’s eighth studio album release, Rihanna may be spending too much time hanging with her rumored beau and not enough time working on her new album, Hollywood Life reports.

While the album, tentatively titled R8, sparked rumors of a late 2014 release, rumors have suggested that Rihanna has scrapped all previously recorded songs from the project in favor of chasing a more unique sound for her album.

Similarly, while some of Rihanna’s fans are gushing over the songstress’ budding romance with Travis Scott, others took to Twitter to express their frustration with Rihanna, who has not released a new album since 2012’s Unapologetic and has not released a new single since “B**** Better Have My Money” dropped in March 2015.

Soon after news of Rihanna and Scott’s rumored romance began to make headlines, fans took to Twitter to share their views on the “Diamonds” singer’s budding relationship.

“Rihanna is dating Travis. But she still hasn’t released r8. Time for a new fave,” one Twitter user writes, while another adds, “R8 isn’t gonna release itself RT @AdoringRihanna: Rihanna partying with Wiz Khalifa & Travis Scott.”

Similarly, another fan states, “Rihanna needs to stop going to Travis Scott concerts and release R8,” while another alleges, “Travis Scott is just another tool Rihanna is using to distract us from the fact that R8 isn’t out.”

While some fans are quick to point the finger at Rihanna’s summer of romance as the reason for R8‘s delay, “Boom Clap” singer Charli XCX recently revealed that she is working hard on penning some new tracks for the Barbadian beauty, hinting that R8 is on its way.

Speaking to 3am via Mirror UK, the British songstress gushes over being able to work on Rihanna’s eighth studio album, telling the site, “She’s my favorite pop girl. She’s the real deal.”

“I’ve actually been to a couple of writing sessions for Rihanna’s new record. It was really fun to put together a couple of tracks,” Charli XCX concludes.

Similarly, the site alleges that RiRi’s new beau, Travis Scott, may be writing a few tracks for Rihanna’s new album, as well; although, none of the rumors have yet to be confirmed by either artist.

The news comes just weeks after Rihanna gushed over R8 during the launch of her new perfume collection in New York City.

Speaking to New York Daily News, Rihanna opens up about her excitement for the new album, revealing, “New album is going really, really great. We have recorded a lot of songs and I can’t wait to finish and put it out. That’s my next step.”
