Harry Styles Set To Be A Toy-Boy To A Septuagenarian?
One Direction star Harry Styles has a reputation as something of a ladies man. Harry was cast as One Direction’s resident lothario almost as soon as the then 16-year-old came to public notice back in 2010. It has been well documented that whilst Harry was appearing on Simon Cowells reality TV show X-Factor he was dating Caroline Flack, a woman almost twice his age. Since then Styles has dated a host of beautiful women including Taylor Swift and Victoria’s Secret model Nadine Leopold.
Now, it seems that Styles may be about to become the love-interest of a much older woman, someone who is almost a septuagenarian. Harry’s fans can relax though, the lady in question is none other than 69-year-old actress Joanna Lumley who reportedly wants Styles to be her love interest in a forthcoming movie version of hit BBC comedy Absolutely Fabulous.
The gossip columns never tire of speculating about who Styles and his One Direction band-mates are dating. One Direction fans avidly consume any snippet of news or rumor about Styles and his band-mates, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne. In recent months speculation has been at fever pitch since Zayn Malik walked out on One Direction. Now that Styles and his pals have announced that they will split, at least temporarily, early in the new year, thousands of column inches have been written about what the boy-band stars will do.
Rumors have been circulating for some time that Harry may be set for a career on the silver screen. It seems likely that Styles may try his hand at acting during the bands split.
According to the Express a source has told the Sun that writer and comedian Jennifer Saunders, who stars alongside Lumley in the small screen version of Absolutely Fabulous, is keen to land Harry to play Lumley’s love interest in the movie. According to the Mirror Saunders is keen to have Styles in the movie because he would appeal to a younger audience.
“Jennifer has told friends she wants Harry to be part of the movie. She’s got some great cameos in the bag already, but wants to give the film a young, hipster edge.”
The Telegraph reports that Saunders is also lining up a host of big names like Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell to play cameos in the movie. Absolutely Fabulous is reportedly set to begin filming in London and France next month.
