‘See You Again’ Brings Wiz Khalifa And Taylor Swift Together

Heads up, Swifties: Taylor has teamed up with rapper Wiz Khalifa on “See You Again,” and, not surprisingly, they nailed it.

On the Houston, Texas, stop of the pop princess’ 1989 World Tour this past Wednesday, September 9, the “Shake It Off” singer surprised her audience of over 40,000 Swifties at Minute Maid Park with a special rendition of “See You Again” with surprise guest Wiz Khalifa, leader of the Taylor Gang. The two stars moved the crowd with a very emotional duet of Khalifa’s hit, which he released as a duet with Charlie Puth. Co-writer Puth was not in attendance, however, Swift effortlessly belted out the singer’s choruses. “See You Again” is a track on the Furious 7 soundtrack, a dedication to the late Paul Walker, who passed away during the filming of the most recent installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise.

According to E! Online, during the collaboration of “See You Again,” Taylor dazzled in a blue sequined leotard that complemented Khalifa’s white-on-white ensemble of a white unbuttoned shirt and white jeans. The duo paraded side-by-side down the catwalk with a shower of fireworks, both staples of a Taylor Swift concert, as literal and metaphorical sparks were flying. Taylor definitely upheld the emotion in “See You Again,” and at the conclusion of the performance, the pair enveloped each other in an emotional hug. Kendall Fisher, from E! Online, further states that the pair “made it appear as though they’d been performing together for years, bringing lots of energy and raising emotions in the crowd.”

Taylor took to Instagram after the show to sing Khalifa’s praises, calling him “one of the sweetest and most talented people I’ve ever met.” She also headed over to Twitter and posted a video of “See You Again,” showing the world the chemistry that accompanied the performance. She even retweeted this adorable video of the Swift and Khalifa embrace.

To add to the excitement of the night, the songstress posted a video moments after the performance of “See You Again,” letting fans in on the fire drill at the stadium. In the video, a woman offscreen yells for Taylor to “put some d*mn clothes on!” The star calmly replies that she is wearing a robe, and further exclaims “this is clothes! I’m covered!” Luckily, Taylor made it out and was able to post a snippet of the “See You Again” performance.

According to Time, Wiz has been added to Swift’s impressive list of special guests on her 1989 World Tour, excluding her shows in Salt Lake City and Denver. Others include rock band Imagine Dragons and singer-songwriter Rachel Platten. Rapper Wiz Khalifa is the leader of the Taylor Gang, a Pittsburgh-based independent record label founded by Khalifa. “See You Again” was released in March of this year, and hit the number one spot in both the United States and the U.K.

Fans of both Swift and Khalifa are buzzing about this performance being the first collaboration of many for the duo. After “See You Again,” wouldn’t you like to see Swift and Khalifa together again?
