‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Could Include ‘Rogue One’ Teaser

Could the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens include a tiny Rogue One teaser to set things up for the first Anthology?

If rumors published by We Got This Covered are true then that is exactly what may happen, which would be a first. Never before has a Star Wars movie given a glimpse into what we will see in Rogue One.

The latest Star Wars: The Force Awakens rumor is to be taken with a major grain of salt, according to these sources.

“Said to be nothing more than a small teaser, the purported post-credits sequence wouldn’t be as heavy-handed as Marvel’s universe-building ploy – which so often involve major characters from separate films uniting – and would instead be designed to spark excitement for the first of Disney’s Anthology films. Alternating between episodic releases and the standalone features, these Star Wars ‘stories’ are designed to flesh out this most prestigious universe, with Edwards’ maiden entry into the adjacent canon revolving around a devious plan to steal the blueprints of the original Death Star.”

We wouldn’t put it past Disney to change things up a bit and do something that has never been done before with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. After all, in a way, they are trying to distance themselves from what George Lucas did with Lucasfilm and the message is clear with the massive toy rollout this past Force Friday.

Additionally, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is supposed to bring with it an entirely new expanded universe, which fans are anxiously awaiting. Fans are even more excited for this element of the new trilogy, all that we know about the franchise will be thrown out the window, well, maybe not all of it.

However, the plot is mostly unknown except for the amount of time that has passed after the events of Return of The Jedi. We now know a bit more about the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters, but obviously director J.J. Abrams is keeping some important details close to his chest. For example, he said he held the release of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn’s (John Boyega) last names on purpose.

When the Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast was first announced, the speculation was that Rey was the daughter of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). For his part, Finn’s parents have been less discussed but he is rumored to be the son of Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams).
