Will Jill Dillard Provide Birth Services To Women In Central America? Duggar Daughter Finishes Up Midwife Training

Jill Dillard has been training as a student midwife for many years. The Duggar daughter worked side-by-side with professional midwives, even helping deliver some of Anna Duggar’s children. Although Jill had difficulty during her own birth and later moving to Central America for long-term mission work, that hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her dream career as a certified professional midwife. The Duggar daughter’s doting husband, Derick Dillard, recently revealed that Jill has been doubling up on studies and will be taking her certified professional midwife test very soon.

The Dillard family recently updated their blog noting their return to Central America. The Dillards say that they spent the past month back in Arkansas taking care of some final preparations. They also officially finished moving their remaining personal belongings out of their house in Rogers, Arkansas. Therefore, it seems that the Dillard family is finally solidifying their move to Central America for the long-term by emptying out their old home.

“As part of our process to move down to Central America, we recently finished moving the last of our stuff out of our house in Rogers. I can say from first hand experience, that the saying ‘many hands make light work’ is very true. My brothers and sisters-in-law made it possible for Jill and I to move our stuff in the matter of a couple days.”

In addition to noting they have moved all of their belongings to Central America, it was also announced that Jill was finishing up her midwife studies. In fact, Derick notes that she has been doubling up on studies in both Spanish and midwifery in a bid to complete two things she is passionate about. With her studies complete, Jill Dillard will soon take a midwifery test. If she passes the test, she will officially hold the title of a “certified professional midwife.” Derick went on to note that Jill would use her new career to share her love of Jesus. So it would seem that Jill may be hoping to utilize her midwife training in some capacity in her mission work.

“As it should be in all Christian’s lives, she is using this skill as a means to an end, and that end being the spread of the message of the greatest love story ever told, that is, the work of Jesus Christ upon the cross so that all people who believe what he said and choose to make him the Lord* of their life will enjoy life with him forever in paradise.”

Should Jill pass the test, she will become a certified midwife. According to the North American Registry of Midwives, a certified midwife is a “knowledgeable, skilled and professional, independent midwifery practitioner who has met the standards for certification set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is qualified to provide the Midwives Model of Care.”

Do you think Jill Dillard will utilize her midwife training in some capacity in Central America after receiving her certification?
