Britney Spears Vegas: Brit Asks Fans To ‘Count To Two,’ Announces Extended Residency

Britney Spears will be staying in Las Vegas for two more years after officially extending her residency.

Spears made the announcement during her show at the Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood on Wednesday night, asking her fans to “count to two,” (they would normally count to “three,” which is the name of one of her songs). Brit made the big announcement and bounced up and down on stage in excitement. Fans cheered loudly once they heard the big news, especially because it was fairly unexpected.

There was some talk that Britney Spears was going to release another album (that may still happen in the new year) and get back on the road again, but it looks like she is really enjoying Las Vegas, and she wants to continue the life she has been living there. Although a short hiatus is expected (Jennifer Lopez will have shows at the Axis Theater in early 2016), Britney will be adding shows to her “Piece of Me” residency through 2017.

According to People Magazine, Britney has been in Las Vegas since 2013. After twisting her ankle on stage earlier this year, the “Womanizer” singer extended her tour for three months. While many fans assumed that Spears would be finishing up her residency by the end of this year, however, she is clearly ready for more.

Britney Spears raises her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and likely enjoys having them situated since they are both in school. Traveling the country (or the world) may not be in the cards for the 33-year-old, at least not right now. Does this mean that Britney will never tour again? Of course not. But it does mean that fans wanting to see her will have to plan a trip to Sin City before the end of 2017.

Britney’s show in Vegas is quite incredible, and it is very entertaining. It even won the title “Best Las Vegas Show 2015.” No word yet on whether or not Brit and her team will make any changes to the production, or if any new songs will be added to her set list. She has performed “Pretty Girls” a couple of times since its release, but it’s unknown if that will become an official part of the show in the future.

Have you seen Britney in Vegas? Would you travel to Vegas just to see her?
