One Direction: Fifth Album To Drop This Week? [Rumor]

One Direction rumors are hardly difficult to come by. Internet rumormongers and gossip columnists seem to thrive on a constant stream of rumors about One Direction. If they are not discussing who One Direction stars are dating then rumors about their sexuality emerge. Of course recent months have seen thousands of column inches devoted to One Direction’s demise. Of course sometimes rumors are found to be true.

In the months between the conclusion of One Direction’s last tour and the beginning of this one, rumors raged claiming that Zayn Malik was on the verge of quitting One Direction. As was widely reported, that rumor proved to be true when Malik broke millions of hearts by walking out on the band shortly after the tour began. As soon as the furor over Malik walking out died down rumors began to emerge that One Direction’s days were numbered and that they would split once the current tour concludes.

As has been widely reported in Inquisitr and elsewhere, those rumors proved to have some substance when One Direction announced that they are to split, at least temporarily, early next year.

When One Direction graduated from the X-Factor back in 2010, they signed a five-year, five-album deal with Simon Cowell’s SyCo. That deal expires when their fifth album is released. Whilst various members of One Direction have dropped hints about the new album, there has been no confirmation of either its title or its release date.

Now a new rumor is emerging claiming that One Direction will release their new album, unexpectedly and without any promotion, this week. Before One Direction fans begin to hyperventilate, though, the source of the latest rumor is hardly what one would call reliable.

Sugarscape are claiming that the fifth One Direction album will be dropped today, and their main source seems to be none other that Apple’s robotic assistant “Siri”. They claim that if you ask Siri when One Direction’s album is being released you will be told “It’s Thursday, September 10, 2015.”

Sugarscape have also picked up on some internet gossip in which a Twitter user claims to have phoned Walmart to ask about the release date for the new One Direction disc and to have been told that it would be available of Friday.

The rumors about One Direction’s fifth release don’t exactly come from the most reliable of sources, but Directioners will be ready to pounce as soon as it is released. As Yahoo! Celebrity report, One Direction fans have been running an internet campaign in an effort to ensure that the new release sells one million copies in its first week of release.
