Tornado chasers are a brave bread at the best of times, but experienced tornado chasers know the risks, and mostly know how to keep out of harms way. The rise in Tornado chasing, initially driven by the movie Twister, but more lately through the rise of social media, has seen an increase in new comers to Tornado chasing, new comers who simply don’t know when to stay back.

Take this video filmed May 13 in Missouri for example. One guy in a car, video camera in hand, trying to get great Tornado footage. Besides the shaky camera work, what’s even more disturbing is that he manages to put himself inside the tornado. It would appear to be pure luck that he survived at all, and he certainly didn’t think he would for a minute, repeatedly calling on god for help. Despite the close call, he keeps on tracking…just insanity.
