Jessa Duggar Is Accused Of Jealousy And Scene Stealing

Jessa Duggar Seewald was viciously attacked by former fans in comments on the Duggar family official Facebook page yesterday, accusing her of jealousy, rudeness, and attention-grabbing. Literally hundreds upon hundreds of condemning comments against Jessa Duggar have been posted in the past 24 hours.

The comments come after a week of Jessa Duggar posting about herself and totally ignoring her cousin Amy Duggar’s wedding last Sunday to Dillon King. Instead of a post congratulating the bride and groom on their special day, the Duggar family Facebook post made a single comment.

“We all had such a wonderful time at Amy’s wedding.”

Then the post diverted attention to Jessa Duggar’s wedding, which was on November 1, 2014, and included a picture of Jessa’s wedding instead of Amy’s. Ironically, Amy can be seen in the photo standing behind Jessa.

The Facebook post continues with this explanation, “All of this excitement has caused Jessa to pull out her pictures from her wedding and post 100 of them on her website.” Readers are then given a link to view even more old wedding photos of Jessa Duggar, instead of pictures of Amy’s wedding. Four days before Amy’s wedding, Jessa posted a 40-minute video of her own wedding on YouTube, most of which had already been seen when TLC featured the Duggar/Seewald wedding on an episode of the Duggar family reality TV show, 19 Kids and Counting, last March.

In Jessa Duggar’s efforts to stage this comeback to public attention, the reaction has been a slew of scathing comments directed at Jessa for her behavior. Jessa was called “conceited,” “self-centered,” “spoiled,” “attention-seeking,” “immature,” “rude,” “shameless,” “tacky,” “insulting,” “selfish,” “juvenile,” “disrespectful,” “ridiculous,” “pathetic,” “narcissistic,” “vain,” “mean-spirited,” and a “sniveling little brat.”

The overriding opinion is that Jessa Duggar was acting out of jealousy of her cousin Amy and the attention she was receiving on the week of her wedding. Alluding to this personality trait, several commenters even coined a new first name for Jessa: Jeal-essa.

People who used to be Jessa’s fans are turning their backs on her after this week’s behavior. After all the Duggar family scandals discovered this summer, they are detecting more than one crack in the family’s religious armor. Numerous comments accused Jessa of not living up to the religious standards she so often preaches.

“If she was as godly as she says she is, would this not be a sin?”

“Jealousy and vanity are mortal sins Moocher [Michelle Duggar] and Jeal-essa [Jessa Duggar]!”

“Actions like this gives one the impression that there is a jealous heart in your midst and that does not bode well with our Lord.”

“Isn’t pride one of the 7 Deadly sins? So why is Jessa posting pictures of HER wedding all over the place?”

“I hear what ms jess be doing is a sin. All of them are attention deficit. Pray that they all get help.”

“So you are upstaging and taking away from your cousin. Not very Christian like, it does seem like you are jealous and selfish.”

“JESSA!!!!! A big no no!!!! It’s Amy’s day. You should be ashamed for doing that! Thought your parents taught you to be aware of hurting people’s feelings. You need to apologize!!”

“Do you not think that is odd or a little mean? Still trying to find the version of the Bible you guys live by to the letter. It isn’t available anywhere. Did you write it yourselves?”

“They can’t even celebrate their niece’s special day without trying to turn the spotlight back to themselves. They do a lot of talking about having a servant’s heart and giving, but what I see is a lot of selfishness and narcissism, There is something seriously wrong with people who can never let anyone else ever be in the spotlight.”

“Jessa needs to quit preaching to others and spend some time reading and thinking about what Jesus said about arrogance, self-centeredness and pride. She has made her vain, jealous heart perfectly clear again and again.”

“What’s wrong? Are you afraid people might forget y’all so you posted pics from a different wedding? I think greed (as in being greedy for attention) is a sin.”

“Jessa needs a dose of humility. Isn’t pride a sin?”

Just ten days ago, Jessa Duggar also received heavy criticism for being chosen as a featured guest at the Southern Women’s Show in Charlotte, North Carolina. The comments about her appearance at the show were mostly derogatory, and one Facebook commenter claimed that over half of the comments had been removed. Most of those comments claimed that Jessa was not a good role model for women because she was uneducated (without a high school diploma or GED) and had no goals in life other than having lots and lots of children. The comments also criticized her for marrying an unemployed teenager who still seems to have no job or means of supporting the couple’s child, which is due in November.

Jessa has yet to come up with a new public image other than being from a family with 19 children. Even if she is able to do that, it will be difficult for her to overcome the public reaction to her behavior this last week regarding her treatment of her cousin Amy on Amy’s wedding day.
