No, Queen Elizabeth Is Not Going To Abdicate The Throne, Skip Prince Charles, And Allow Prince William, Kate Middleton To Become King And Queen

Queen Elizabeth II has only just broken the record to become the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the United Kingdom. However, some party-poopers have already started rumors that she is set to abdicate her throne, skip Prince Charles, and then allow Prince William to become king, with Kate Middleton then becoming his queen. But these are almost certainly false.

OK Magazine, via Hollywood Life, has alleged that the 89-year-old Queen Elizabeth II wants the 33-year-old pair of Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge to replace her at the top of the British monarchy.

The source for the Royal Family allegedly told the aforementioned publication that Kate Middleton and Prince William were both “stunned” by the announcement, before then continuing, “The idea of having Charles step aside for the good of the monarchy had been whispered about, but they never believed it would happen… When Kate found out, the first thing she did was call her mum and dad. They are absolutely overwhelmed.”

66-year-old Prince Charles is the heir apparent to the British throne, and according to OK Magazine’s sources, he isn’t too happy to have been overlooked.

“It’s been a tough pill to swallow for Charles,” the insider added. “He’s spent his whole life waiting to succeed his mother. He initially flew into a rage, ranting that the crown is rightfully his. But then he began to see her way of thinking.”

The Queen reportedly reached this decision because Kate Middleton and Prince William are so “beloved” by the British public, with the source then going on to add, “This is what the people want: William and Kate as King and Queen.”

The publication even has a date for when Prince William will be coronated as the new king, with the ceremony allegedly going to take place just after the Queen’s 90th birthday next April.

However, the reports of Prince William replacing Queen Elizabeth are believed to be false. One of the main reasons for this is just how much respect the Queen has for the tradition of the royal family. If she decided to skip Prince Charles as the next king Of England in place of Prince William, then she would be destroying this tradition in place of the more popular decision.

According to BBC, 17:30 BST on Wednesday, September 9, Queen Elizabeth II became the longest-reigning monarch in British history, surpassing the 23, 226 day, 16 hour, and 30 minute reign of Queen Victoria.
