Anne Hathaway Talks Film Sexism, Taylor Swift Success, & Catwoman Reboot, Including Vegan Superhero Diet [Video]

Anne Hathaway is candid about the sexism that she’s observed in Hollywood, which in her eyes means younger actresses are favored. Now that she’s in her early 30s, Anne feels that actresses in their early 20s are often chosen over her. And while Hathaway recognizes what she sees as the reality of the entertainment industry when it comes to age and women, she told Glamour that she isn’t complaining.

“When I was in my early twenties, parts would be written for women in their fifties and I would get them. And now I’m in my early thirties and I’m like, ‘Why did that 24 year old get that part?’ I was that 24 year old once, I can’t be upset about it, it’s the way things are,” theorized Anne.

Hathaway hopes that she can succeed by finding intriguing stories that will make it at the box office.

And Anne also admitted to a girl crush on Taylor Swift. Hathaway shared that she spent some time with the pop singer and was impressed with her determination.

“She just seems to be following her heart,” praised Anne. “We hung out one night. I was like, ‘You are a magnificent creature.’ She was on fire and I’ve watched her become this force of nature.”

As for what’s next for Hathaway, she’s contemplating playing Catwoman again, reported Cinema Blend.

While other superhero movies are in the works, Anne’s role as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises doesn’t seem to be on the list of reboots. But Hathaway declared that she’d be interested in taking on the cat ears again.

“I would be totally up for doing it. If Chris [Nolan] was involved. For me, the thing that made doing that part particularly fun was that she existed in his Gotham. Without him I don’t think it would be the same thing,” said Anne.

If Hathaway does play Catwoman, she already knows what it takes to slip sleekly into that tight-fighting costume, and that’s an extremely carefully planned-out plant-based diet, reported Shape.

Anne shifted her vegetarian diet to primarily vegan, said nutrition coach Jackie Keller. That meant almonds, avocado, selected whole grains, a variety of vegetables, ginger, sesame seeds, and the essential dark chocolate delight.

Among Hathaway’s favorite Catwoman meals were a tempeh club avocado sandwich on gluten-free bread, vegetarian egg rolls, and chocolate power smoothies whipped up with almond milk. In addition, Keller advocates remembering to drink plenty of water.

“You need lots of water to keep flushing stuff through your system. Almost all of us, even the most conscientious drinker is probably under hydrated. Water is actually important for metabolism,” said Anne’s Catwoman nutrition coach.
