Kanye West: Ice Cube Backs West’s Presidency Ambitions, While Kim Slams Breakup Rumors

Kanye West stunned the audience and viewers of the MTV Video Music Awards this week when he announced that he intends to run for presidency in a future election. The rapper is known for getting the attention of crowds at awards events by making outlandish statements about talented artists and interrupting speeches. An announcement about a presidential campaign is therefore quite difficult to take seriously. West went there on Sunday by wrapping up his speech with the surprising statement.

“As you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided, in 2020, to run for president.”

However, out of the millions who viewed Kanye and heard him utter those unexpected words, one definite supporter to West has made himself known. As the Daily Mail relays, “fellow rapper and former N.W.A. star, Ice Cube” is all about giving his support to West and his ambitious journey. The publication expands on the subject.

“The 46-year-old told Daily Mail Australia on Friday as he promoted new movie Straight Outta Compton in Sydney that he is backing the Gold Digger singer as president and his wife Kim Kardashian West as the First Lady, but would not consider running alongside him as his Vice President.”

The rapper shared reasons as to why he wouldn’t take on the role of vice president to Kanye, while sitting beside his look-a-like son during the interview.

“I’m not into politics like that. You know, I’m into helping my people get over the hump. I don’t have time to help everybody. We got a lot of work to do.”

Kardashian and Kanye are perhaps not on their way to becoming the 2020 president and first lady, seeing as there is constant speculation that the pair is ready to go their separate ways. Kim, now pregnant with their second child, has done her best to squash those rumors recently. The reality TV star attempted to share just how in love the two are by taking to Instagram. International Business Times shares the caption associated with the picture of Kim in a pose on stage in what looks like a “mock” burlesque performance.

“‘#TBT COMPLEX 2009 (I was on one cover side & Kanye on the other side) #Meanttobe,’ she said in a post for Throwback Thursday. The photo shows her posing on a stage in what looks like a mock burlesque performance.”

As the publication shares, the flurry of break up rumors began circulating when Kim and baby North took off with the rest of Kim’s family to the Caribbean, and Kanye was nowhere to be seen.
