Here’s What ‘The Sims 4’ Players Have Accomplished In The Game’s First Year

Simmers and The Sims 4 team are celebrating a whole year of torrid romances, epic buildings, and untimely deaths. Since the game’s release in September 2014, players have created nearly 93 million Sims with over 27 million marriages and 235 million Woo-Hoo sessions. Developers of The Sims 4 divulged these statistics and many more on the official The Sims website in celebration of the game’s first anniversary.

Almost 28,000 years of gameplay have been logged in The Sims 4 with players picking romantic, cheerful, and active as traits chosen the most often. These lovestruck, happy Sims went on to marry over 27 million times with less than two million divorces. Out of those 235 million Woo-Hoos mentioned earlier, Sims tried for babies 165 million times. Unfortunately, though, five million Sims completed life’s cycle and eventually died.

Other statistics for players in their first year of The Sims 4 reveal what players chose as their most desired careers. Tech Guru comes in first at 15 percent with the Culinary profession coming in second at 12 percent. Entertainer, Secret Agent, and Writer fill out the remaining top five jobs.

Of course, careers are just part of what players can accomplish in The Sims 4. Players can also create Sims and structures to share in the Gallery. Over five million uploads of Sims, lots, and rooms have been shared with over 90 million downloads.

Through the months since release, players have had a chance to pick up a number of DLCs including stuff packs, game packs, and full-blown expansion packs. However, the developers have released a number of free updates based on player feedback as well. Most notably, players needed more space to build elaborate creations and house the many Sim families they were creating. In June, as announced on the official site, The Sims 4 developers responded with Newcrest, a new world with 15 empty lots in three distinct neighborhoods.

The Sims 4 is also getting another expansion pack in November that will introduce a completely new way to play the game. “Get Together,” much like the first expansion pack “Get to Work,” adds an entirely new gameplay mechanic to the game with the addition of Clubs. As the Inquisitr reported, setting up these social circles where Sims can often act out of character in order to fit in with the group is just part of the expansion. A new game world, new skills, new Create-A-Sim options, new build options, and much more are a part of “Get Together.”
