Janet Jackson Drops Hot ‘Unbreakable’ Track

Janet Jackson is wasting no time. Hot on the heels of unveiling the cover art for her long-awaited new album, Janet hit the headlines again by dropping a single from the project. The haunting tune “Unbreakable” hit the internet with a blaze of fire, delighting old fans and creating new admirers.

Janet is making all the right moves during her phenomenal comeback. The first single from the Unbreakable album, “No Sleeep,” was released in June. The catchy, bouncy beat of that song grabbed the ears of doubters and let them know Ms. Jackson meant business. The song was all the rage and whet the appetite of the music world for her next course. If the starter was delicious, the main course had to be delectable.

Janet Jackson has never been afraid of controversy. After the release of her 1986 award winning Control, many people thought that Janet had overstepped her boundaries. She was known as the nice, innocent girl of television and film. Jackson’s prior albums were received as decent compilations of work. But Control, established Janet Jackson as an accomplished artist willing to be sensitive and raw.

With the release of “Unbreakable” and “No Sleeep,” Janet has let it be known that her desire to dance on the edge is still as captivating as ever. Janet uses her silky voice to pull the listener into her web of dreams, fantasies, and confessions.

Venus Brown, for BMG Chrysalis US, had nothing but praise for the multi-talented Janet Jackson’s project.

“As die-hard fans of her work and of the musical jewels that Janet Jackson has bestowed upon the world, we are beyond thrilled that she has chosen BMG to be her new partner. Her music and her video and concert styling, particularly Rhythm Nation 1814, changed the course of pop music.”

“Unbreakable” sounds like a love song, but has the up-tempo groove of a dance floor cut. Janet talks about love, faithfulness, and devotion in the tune. Some fans have even wondered if the single is a dedication to them as a whole.

Janet’s Unbreakable is set for an October 2 release. The project is a reunion with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, the main cogs in Janet’s successful coming of age Control album. Terry Lewis explained to Entertainment Weekly that Janet already had the idea and concept for the song. He and Jimmy just help flesh it out.
