Will Smith was walking the red carpet at the “Men In Black III” premiere when a male reporter leaned in for a kiss. And then another kiss. And then another. The Fresh Prince eventually had enough and shoved the reporter off of him, slapped him, and told him that he was lucky he didn’t punch him.
Smith said:
“What’s wrong with you man.”
The actor moved on down the red carpet where he told the next set of reporters:
“Dude tried to kiss me on the mouth. He’s lucky I didn’t sucker punch him. Oh no, I shouldn’t have said that on camera.”
TMZ reports that the unnamed Ukrainian reporter often tries to kiss celebrities. Smith was obviously not aware that the smooch was coming.
A little hub-bub has flared up as some have criticized Smith for being homophobic, saying that the actor over-reacted in the situation, but it looks like Smith was just caught off guard. What do you think?
Here’s the video of the incident.
Will Smith did just come out in support of gay marriage. Smith said:
“If anybody can find someone to love them and to help them through this difficult thing that we call life, I support that in any shape or form.”
Do you think Will Smith was being homophobic? Do you think he overreacted?

Will should have punched that sissys lights out.
From what I read in the article, No he didn't over-react. It's normal for a man to react that way if another man tries to kiss him in the mouth.
Will should have kneed him in the nuts…this guy needs a good wake up call
No he did not OVER react if it would have been a woman that the reporter had done this too, I am MORE than sure she would have done the SAME thing! I could see ONE kiss as a welcome but past THAT?
it was pure homophobic and if he didn't like the kiss he should have just pulled away and walked of but he didn't and if that wasnt enough he also whent on to say its a lucky I didn't sucker punch him! was that comment realy needed? and has for him supporting gay rights that doesn't prove that he's ok with gays that just shows he would do anything to keep his fans and career happy.
have you seen the video because i didnt see no kiss on the lips?
The video wouldn't load on my computer, but the article didn't say he actually kissed him –it stated that he TRIED to kiss him.
Supporting gay people doesn't mean you have to allow yourself to be subjected to gay acts.
no it was a greeting kiss like you get when your in italy nothing more
Ok, maybe I'll try again to view the video.
i wasnt sugesting he should be subjected to gay acts all im saying is wills actions came across as homophobic all the guy did was kiss him on each cheek and this reporter was from a different country where its probably normal for you to be greeted in this way gosh if i smacked every mate who kissed me on the cheek id be in prison a very lonly person
Okay, yeah I've heard of cultures where they kiss on each cheek…Well, I'm done with this story…interesting discussion…probably would have been more interesting if I could have loaded the video. lol
All people deserve equal protection and rights. Now had that been a woman and a man forced his lips on hers repeatedly would she be justified in being upset? That's sexual assault.

How is that homophobic? A strange person comes up and attempts to kiss him on the mouth and you think it's okay? it's NOT okay. It wouldn't have been okay if it was a woman who had done it either.
It is custom, in some Euro countries to kiss both cheeks. But that dude DID go for the mouth. That's assault. Will Smith punked that idiot, and did what.
many of us would've done. There's nothing "homophobic" about it. Just because a straight guy doesn't want another dude's mouth on his, it doesn't make him.
"anti-gay". If any dude, especially a stranger, tried to lock lips with me, he's going to get popped. It's just disrespectful, plain and simple.

An interview with reporter who wanted to kiss Will Smith..http://liveoncampus.com/wire/show/3381875.
I understand that in some foreign countries men kiss each other on the cheek as something normal but that guy kissed him multiple times and if he didn't stop him he would of kept going. That's disrespectful and I'm gay and I would have pushed him off too.
