Sarah Jessica Parker To Host Obama Fundraiser

President Obama has been getting a lot of help from celebrities lately. George Clooney raised close to $15 million for the President’s re-election campaign and now “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker hopes to do the same.

The Obama campaign recently announced a new contest, giving donors a chance to win a ticket to “A New York Night” at Sarah Jessica Parker’s NYC home. The event, which will be held on June 14th, will be attended by SJP, as well as President Obama and first lady Michelle.

Parker writes:

“I hope you’ll help me welcome President Obama and the First Lady to New York… It should be fabulous.”

The NY Daily News reports that Sarah Jessica Parker has been a longtime supporter of President Obama. Parker writes:

“I believed then, as I do now, that if we all chipped in and did our part, we would not only make history, but create meaningful change that so many Americans needed. For me, this election is even more important than 2008. (It will) determine whether we get to keep moving forward, or if we’re forced to go back to policies that ask people like my middle-class family in Ohio to carry the burden — while people like me, who don’t need tax breaks, get extra help.”

USA Today notes that anyone who donates $3 or more will be entered into a raffle to win tickets for the event. The raffle winners will also be given tickets to a Mariah Carey concert.

Do you think Sarah Jessica Parker will raise more than George Clooney’s $15 million fundraiser?
