Current WWE Champion Seth Rollins’ Girlfriend, Zahra Schreiber, Fired Over Swastika Posts On Instagram

Zahra Schreiber, WWE NXT wrestling star and girlfriend of current WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins, has been fired over posting an image of a “My Little Pony” cartoon character wearing a swastika armband and a Hitler mustache. Schreiber also posted an image of a piece of woodwork bearing a swastika that was apparently hanging in the wrestler’s living room, according to reports from TMZ.

The Inquisitr has previously reported that the former WWE Diva’s real name is Brittney Schreiber, a surname that while not exclusively Jewish, is the name of many Jewish families, according to Hebrew Surnames, making the wrestler’s posting of swastikas all the more puzzling and shocking.

SB Nation Cageside Seat reports that the offensive swastika images that Schreiber was fired over were first posted in 2012, but they have been deleted in the last several days.

Fans and followers of Schreiber almost immediately questioned the wisdom of sharing images of swastikas over social media, as well as pointing out that the swastika represents “racism and ignorance.” Schreiber defends the decision to post images bearing a swastika online.

“haha it’s not a big deal! I can hang whatever photos I want in MY room or MY instagram. Just like she can post all over her networking sites how she thinks women who are prolife are idiots. We all have our own opinions and lifestyles. I don’t comment on hers so I expect the same.”

“The swastika means prosperity and luck. It was around way before hitler turned it into an icon. Take it how you want I could careless. This is too funny.”

The notion that a person or group can display a swastika in modern society, while insisting that those who are offended need to understand that it had other uses before being adopted by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, has been seen as a spurious argument by many. A borough of the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario is named Swastika and was named ten years before the formation of the Nazi party. Military History Now reports on how residents of the community removed new highway signs bearing “Winston” erected by the Government of Ontario, intent on keeping the Swastika name.

One of the first commercially produced surfboards, available in the 1930s and manufactured by Pacific Systems Homes was named the Swastika and featured a swastika logo on its deck. Unlike Schreiber and the community in northern Ontario, once World War II broke, the manufacturers understood the offense a surfboard called Swastika, as detailed by Legendary Surfers, would cause and quietly changed its name. Debates regarding the display of antique surfboards displaying the swastika logo spring up regularly.
