Hailee Steinfeld Discusses ‘Love Myself,’ Joins Taylor Swift’s Squad At The 2015 MTV VMAs
Hailee Steinfeld made her first red carpet appearance at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. The entertainer was a part of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” squad on the VMAs red carpet.
Of course, Taylor Swift made a statement at the MTV Video Music Awards, which took place on Sunday night, August 30. She arrived with nine of her famous friends including Cara Delevigne, Selena Gomez, and up-and-coming singer, Hailee Steinfeld.
The 23-year-old Pitch Perfect 2 star was there to support her famous BFF. The “Love Myself” singer wore a white Stella McCartney jumpsuit. Hailee paired her simple and mature look with a gold Jill Milan clutch and a matching gold Jennifer Fisher neck cuff. She also wore gold stilettos to complete her golden girl look.
Jill Milan, the brand for luxury fashion and accessories, announced on Monday, August 31, that Hailee Steinfeld wore the gold Disc Clutch to the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Steinfeld was styled for Sunday’s televised event by celebrity stylist Karla Welch, according to a previous report via the Business Wire. She previously wore Jill Milan to Vanity Fair‘s Oscar party earlier this year.
Hailee Steinfeld is best known for her role of Mattie Ross in the 2010 film True Grit. But now, she’s becoming known for her sexy new single, “Love Myself.” Fans have wondered if Hailee’s song is a self-pleasuring album. With lyrics like “I’m gonna touch the pain away,” and “The beautiful, it comes with you.”
The actress has been coy about what the song really means. During her interview with PopJustice, Steinfeld says that the sexually suggestive lyrics have more than one meaning. Call it a double entendre, if you will.
“Well, the lyrics are subject to the listener so it ‘s up to their interpretation. But for me it’s an empowerment record and it’s ultimately about taking care of yourself and indulging yourself, whether that be emotionally or physically or with material things. It just shows how much power there is in being able to provide for yourself.”
Hailee also released a new music video to accompany the single. The video, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, shows Hailee wearing sexy clothes as she dances on a rooftop in downtown Los Angeles. She also dances with some of her fans in the busy side streets. Davis explained to E! News the message behind Hailee’s music video and sex-powered anthem.
“The rest of the video is a social message, so to speak, of this really cool mirrored cube that we’re placing in different locations all around the city. On the sides of the box, it says #LoveMyself in different cool fonts and it’s kind of like a really cool social experiment… it’s fun to get different reactions, how they react when they read the words ‘love myself.’ “
