WWE News: Jim Ross Tells WWE Fans To Forget About Sting Vs. The Undertaker At ‘WrestleMania’

WWE fans have dream matches. It’s the equivalent to sports fans wanting the best players from their respective eras to go against one another. For example, basketball enthusiasts will always wonder who is the better basketball player: Michael Jordan or LeBron James. Another example is a one-on-one battle between Sidney Crosby and Wayne Gretzky. The WWE contains those similarities to professional sports.

Here are popular dream matches in the WWE: Andre the Giant vs. the Big Show, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels, John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan, and the Undertaker vs. Sting, among others.

Out of all those matches, the final one has a chance of becoming true. It should’ve happened at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, but Vince McMahon and the rest of his WWE Creative team thought a feud between Sting and Triple H was a better idea. While it had a great endpoint at WrestleMania, WWE fans were still at odds about having Sting lose his first match in the WWE.

Moving on to this year, Sting just returned to the WWE last week on WWE Raw and is ready for a WWE championship match against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions. Even though WrestleMania 32 isn’t until next year, wrestlers need enough time to promote the feud. Jim Ross, legendary WWE announcer, commented on a feud between Sting and Taker, then ultimately said not to expect it.

“I think that we can forget about Sting vs. Taker. All storylines in the biz can be simpler and more logical and it would make me happier. Plus, paying more attention to continuity would be smart on their part as well.”

The logic behind a match between Sting and the Undertaker doesn’t make total sense. Sting hasn’t won at WrestleMania and might be in the WWE Hall of Fame one day. Why would a WWE Hall of Fame wrestler not have a win at the peak of their profession? Two, this could be Undertaker’s last year in the wrestling industry. He needs to go out with a victory.

Last year, the match made perfect sense. Bray Wyatt didn’t need to face Taker, but the WWE wanted him to, and it was a good match. Wyatt carried the feud with his excellent mic skills and impeccable timing. If the WWE were to put Sting and Taker for WrestleMania 32, the WWE Universe probably won’t complain. However, one of those men would end their careers with a loss at WrestleMania. Who would it be?
