Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne Duet Was Anything But ‘Complicated’

Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne’s duet was anything but “Complicated.”

Just days after social media was swarming with rumors that the pop singers were feuding, the Canadian artist joined the stage with the “Shake it Off” singer, proving that there was no “Bad Blood” between the two.

Lavigne, 30, was invited by Swift, 25, to perform her 2002 hit, “Complicated,” during her “1989” world tour stop in San Diego on Saturday, August 29. This marked the second time that Avril Lavigne has taken to the stage since she revealed that she had been suffering from Lyme disease.

Following their performance, Avril took to Instagram to share a photo of the pair, writing: “Such a Pleasure to perform ‘Complicated’ tonight with @taylorswift on her #1989 world tour! She ROCKS!”

Taylor also took to social media to share her excitement over the duet.

Last week, Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne found themselves in the midst of a fan feud after Taylor liked a Tumblr photo that compared her interactions with her fans to other singers and how they interact with their fans. One of the photos showed Avril standing next to one of her fans. Captions pop up from the fan and read: “Hi Avril! I’m a huge fan and I’m so exci–” Then the caption for Avril says: “No touching!” On the contrary, the photos of Taylor show her hugging her fans, and even giving one of them a smooch.

Avril later responded to one of her follower’s concerned tweets, explaining that all singers and artists love their fans.
