Detroit Man Allegedly Exposing Himself To Young Children Gets Shot In The Chest By Angry Father

A Detroit man picked the wrong dad to mess with.

This week, a man who was allegedly exposing himself to young children ended up in the hospital after an enraged father learned about what has happened and shot the man in the chest.

The incident happened at around 8 p.m. on Friday on the city’s west side. A woman named India told WXYZ that she got a call from a neighbor that India’s brother was exposing himself to children, including India’s own 3-year-old son.

“All I know is he pulled down his pants in front of my niece and my nephews and he was letting the kids touch his butt,” India told WXYZ.

India said her fiance came home to confront her brother, and the two got into an argument.

“He just kept saying he was sorry, he was just playing around, he didn’t know, he’s sorry. He apologized and that was it,” India said.

India said the argument grew even more heated, until her fiance pulled out a gun and shot the alleged offender in the chest.

This is not the first time a parent is accused of enacting vigilante justice on someone who harmed their children. Last year, a Texas father was found not guilty of gunning down a man who drove drunk and killed his two young sons.

Barajas and his children were pushing the family’s broken-down truck when a drunken Jose Banda Jr. plowed into them, killing 12-year-old David and 11-year-old Caleb. Authorities claimed an enraged Barajas then went home and returned to the crash to shoot Banda in the head.

Authorities never found a gun, however, and Barajas said it was someone else who killed Banda.

“I thank God. This has been hard on me and my family,” Barajas told reporters after his acquittal (via NBC News). “It’s been a lot of weight lifted but I’m still very hurt.”

Some were upset by the verdict, including Banda’s common-law wife who said she believes jurors were overwhelmed by the emotions in the case and let a murderer walk free.

Details are still sparse in the Detroit shooting. Police have yet to release details on the shooting or identify the alleged shooter or victim.

Police have also not yet said if the man allegedly exposing himself to children in Detroit will be charged. India said her fiance turned himself in to Detroit police, and is also waiting to learn what charges he might face.
