Tila Tequila Booted From ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ For Offensive Social Media Posts, Begs For A Second Chance

Tila Tequila was all set to make a splash on Celebrity Big Brother, but managed to last only a few hours before producers dug up some offensive media posts she had made back in 2013, praising Adolf Hitler and wearing Nazi regalia, Hollywood Life is reporting.

You may recall that back in December 2013, Tila (real name: Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen) made a series of Facebook posts where she appeared wearing a Nazi armband and a Nazi soldier’s hat, holding a gun, with her image posed in front of Auschwitz. In her posts, she praised Adolf Hitler’s art and even defended the Holocaust, according to MSN. The posts have since been taken down, but Hollywood Life was able to save a screenshot of the offending image; it won’t be published in this post, but you can see it here.

For reasons that aren’t clear, Tila’s offensive posts slipped past the radar of Celebrity Big Brother, which airs on the U.K.’s Channel 5; however, when they were discovered, Tila go the boot. A Channel 5 spokesperson explained in a statement.

“Unfortunately, Channel 5 and Endemol did not know about the views and attitudes Tila had expressed in social media postings prior to her involvement in Celebrity Big Brother. When they were brought to our attention, she was called to the Diary Room for a discussion with producers and was subsequently removed from the house. The views Tila had expressed, and permitted to remain uncorrected, are totally unacceptable and, accordingly, her continued involvement in the programme was untenable.”

In fact, all traces of Tila Tequila’s appearance on Celebrity Big Brother are expected to be removed by the time the show airs next Friday; although a few hours of CBB footage were filmed with Tila in them, they’re expected to be edited out. Tila will also likely miss out on her $175,000 payday for appearing on the show.

On Sunday, according to The Daily Mail, Tila begged for another chance, saying that she had put her Nazi past behind her, and that her 2013 posts were due to drugs and depression.

“Back in 2013 I made a statement about Hitler not being a bad person, and immediately realized soon after that I had made a terrible mistake that would ultimately come back to haunt me. During that time I had been suffering from severe depression, and drug addiction for many years prior to that. I also attempted to commit suicide in 2012, and overdosed on prescription pills. I wanted to die. I felt worthless, and unloved as that pain continued to grow causing me to further spiral out of control.”

Whether or not Celebrity Big Brother will accept Tila Tequila’s apology and let her back into the house remains to be seen.
