Bindi Irwin Trades Crocodile Hunting Clothes For Sparkly Dress For ‘Dancing With The Stars’ And Looks Stunning

Fresh off an annual crocodile hunting trip in her native Australia, Bindi Irwin gave Dancing With the Stars fans a sneak peek at her new, stunning look that will become standard fare for Season 21 of the popular dance-off reality show.

Unaccustomed to getting all dolled up, Bindi Irwin is trading in her crocodile hunting clothes for a more glamorous look that would surely make her late father, Steve Irwin, proud.

According to WebProNews, the heir to the Irwin family’s crocodile hunting empire gave folks a sneak peek at her new look for DWTS in a sequined, short blue dress that showed off the beautiful, young woman’s curves nicely.

Dancing With the Stars is quite the departure for the 17-year-old budding biologist, who spends most of her following in her dad’s footsteps studying the crocodiles that made him so famous.

“I just got back from the Steve Irwin Wildlife Preserve. We were there on our annual crocodile research trip. We go there for about a month every year studying crocodiles to see where they go and what they get up to.”

Despite feeling like a fish out of water — or a croc, as the case may be — Bindi Irwin told People magazine that washing off the dirt and getting dressed up to compete for the mirror-ball trophy is an exciting proposition.

“I took a shower last night, and the amount of dirt and mud that came off of me was phenomenal, so [DWTS] will be quite different. I’m used to jumping on top of crocodiles and holding them down to put trackers on them. Now, I’m about to be on a dance floor in the middle of a concrete jungle trying my luck and doing the best I possibly can. I’m excited.”

Irwin was one of the first celebrities named for Dancing with the Stars Season 21 and admits she may be more afraid of this than wrestling crocs.

“This is going to be more terrifying than jumping on top of a crocodile. Crocodiles, they are very special because they are modern-day dinosaurs. But I’ve kind of worked with them my whole life, whereas I’ve never danced before in my life.”

Bindi has already reported for duty, getting fitted by the costuming department at DWTS to compete against other celebs lined up for Season 21.

So far, the verified list of celebs slated to join Bindi Irwin on Season 21 as reported by Us Weekly includes Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, social media sensation Hayes Grier, R&B singer Chaka Khan, and American Pharaoh jockey Victor Espinoza. Also recently added are actress Alexa PenaVega and her husband, actor Carlos PenaVega. But also rumored is celebrity chef Paula Deen.

Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will be back as hosts, joined by Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Julianne Hough as judges. Longtime judge Len Goodman will sit this season out.

Pro dancers verified so far include Karina Smirnoff, Val Chmerkovskiy, Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker, Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess, and Peta Murgatroyd.
