Drake’s New Album Release Coming Soon, What Can Fans Expect From ‘Views From The 6’?

Drake may still be riding the success of his 2015 mixtape, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, but will the rapper see even greater success with the release of his fourth studio album, Views From the 6?

According to Billboard, Drake has some major surprises in store for eager fans, including a few star-studded features and a totally new sound for the project.

A source close to Drake tells the publication that since If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late became one of the top-selling albums released in 2015 despite being classified as a “mixtape,” the rapper and his label are expecting Views From the 6 to see even greater success.

The site explains that the highly anticipated release coupled with Drake’s new endorsement deal with Apple Music’s Connect service could make it an even larger success than the Canadian rapper’s surprise mixtape release from February of earlier this year.

In addition, a source explains that the “epic” project will contain a completely different sound than what fans are used to, although noting that the “Energy” rapper worked with his usual circle of producers including Noah “40” Shebib, Boi-1da, and Omen to complete the project.

While Drake has yet to comment on who will be featured on his upcoming album, rumors suggest that Beyoncé, Tinashe, and Willow Smith are all guests that will appear on Views from the 6.

Similarly, when asked if Drake has chosen to reference his recent feud with Meek Mill on the new album, the source explains that the rapper is taking “a lot of fuel” from his feud with the Philly rapper.

While it’s unclear if Drake will be taking another jab at Nicki Minaj’s man following his two diss tracks, “Back To Back” and “Charged Up,” the source explains that Mill’s ghostwriting claims have served as an inspiration for the new project.

While rumors began suggesting that Drake was planning on dropping a third diss on Meek Mill earlier this month, a source close to the rapper reveals to Urban Islandz that Drake has “shelved” the track until further notice.

“After a point you realize that it’s not even worth it so at this moment that song is in the archive,” the source explains of the rumored track.

“I don’t know if it will ever be released but I don’t see him dropping that joint anytime soon and it’s very dope. I can confidently say that it would end Meek for good. There would be no coming back if this track had gotten out,” the source concludes.

In regard to a release date for Views From The 6, rumors began suggesting that the album would drop on September 24 after the date mysteriously appeared on Drake’s website in July.

While Drake has not commented on rumors regarding the album’s release date, fans point out that the date is the same as the release of Drake’s previous studio album, Nothing Was The Same, which dropped in 2013.
