Will ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Be Adding Lea Michele To The Cast?

While some information is leaking out from the set of Grey’s Anatomy, Shonda Rhimes has been tight-lipped on additions and subtractions from the cast. Though fans have not gotten over the loss last year of Dr. Derek Shepherd, or McDreamy, they are waiting to see how Rhimes will wave her magic wand to draw fans in back again.

According to the Inquisitr, Rhimes might be bringing back Sandra Oh, as the much loved Dr. Cristina Yang, to be a support for Dr. Meredith Grey, and bring some old fans back to Grey’s Anatomy. Bringing Cristina Yang back would be significant for Meredith and, of course, for Owen.

But news is emerging that Lea Michele of Glee fame is desperate to get a spot, even a small spot, on Grey’s Anatomy, and she is making sure that Shonda Rhimes knows it by going public with her dream. She’s even shared that she knows some medical jargon, as her mother is a nurse. She is ready to do what it takes to don some scrubs and get to work at Grey-Sloan Memorial hospital.

“Shonda, call. Like, what the hell?,” she told the magazine. “I’m ready. Put me in scrubs. I’d love a little arc. Just a little arc.”

Right now, Michele is on Scream Queens with Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis, but she is willing to move her schedule around for Shonda Rhimes to give her a chance after her long run on Glee, according to Design & Trend.

“I’d love a little arc. Just a little arc,” she [Michele] said.

But will Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes hear Michele’s call? According to J-14, Lea Michele is doing everything she can to get her message to Rhimes, even bringing it up in press interviews. And if Shonda Rhimes really wants to stick to the idea that she wants this season to be lighter and funny, Michele might be just the ticket.

The Christian Post is reporting that Rhimes is starting the move towards light with the living arrangements with Meredith, Amelia, and Maggie.

“Right now it’s very funny. Those three women are very different and don’t have very much in common, which is fantastic. Meredith needs support right now and she is related to them so it’s not the same as when she was living with Izzie (Katherine Heigl) and George (T.R. Knight) and liked them. She doesn’t necessarily need to like them to love them and be in a house with them. It’s a fascinating dynamic — it’s family.”
