Scott Foley Dishes on ‘True Blood’ Experience, New Fox Series ‘Goodwin Games’
Former Felicity star and recent True Blood addition Scott Foley opened up at the Fox Upfront on Monday and revealed what many fans of HBO’s hit dark vampire series already thought to be true — it’s the hottest show in TV history.
Foley, who first appeared in True Blood’s season 4 finale as Patrick, Terry Bellefleur’s platoon leader from when they served in Iraq together, talked about his experience filming for the show’s upcoming fifth season.
“I am going to be on ‘True Blood.’ It was really exciting,” he told Hollywood Crush on the red carpet where he was promoting his other small-screen venture, “The Goodwin Games.” “I had a great time shooting it. I spent the last nine months shooting this season and it was very secretive, very sexy, a lot of blood and fangs.”
While Foley, for the most part, was tight-lipped on what trouble could be brewing for his character in the forthcoming season, he did promise that it would be worth the wait.
“I’m not a vampire or a werewolf or a fairy or a shape-shifter or a were-panther… Well, you’ll have to watch and find out because it’s pretty interesting.”
In addition to his upcoming role in season 5 of True Blood, Foley also is set to star Fox’s single-camera comedy “The Goodwin Games,” which is reportedly slated for a mid-season premiere.
Fox describes the show as follows:
The Goodwin Games tells the story of three grown siblings (Foley, Becki Newton of Ugly Betty, and Better With You‘s Jake Lacy) who return home after their father’s (Beau Bridges) death to discover they stand to inherit more than $20 million — if they take part in a series of unique tasks, including a special game of Trivial Pursuit against one another. Hilarity ensues.
When asked to compare the similarities between his two forthcoming TV roles, Foley said:
“‘True Blood’ and ‘The Goodwin Games’ are polar opposites of each other… But equally mysterious and exciting.”
