Justin Bieber Get Sexy And Gritty In ‘What Do You Mean?’ Music Video Teaser

Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” upcoming music video is coming for blood, if the gloriously sexy and gritty teaser of the visual is anything to go by.

The returning Prince of Pop rolled out the Brad-Furman music video on his social media pages a few hours after the tandem premiere of the Ryan Sheckler-featuring lyric video and single early on Friday, August 28.

The catchy song soared to No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes singles sales chart within minutes of its release and hit No. 1 in 52 countries within two hours, which is a record in itself. And the lyric video is now the most watched of its kind after pulling in 7.7. million views in under 24 hours.

At its peak on Friday, the smash bop was No. 1 in 75 countries, with top 5, 10, and 20 placements in other territories. Today, it is still No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes singles sales chart and 76 further countries.

Hits Daily Double reports the single “garnered over 100 millions impressions” on Instagam and Twitter, which isn’t surprising given the viral celebrity-assisted countdown the Biebs kicked off last month.

“What Do You Mean?” is the lead cut from JB’s fourth studio album, which is set to drop November 13.

In the clip caption, Justin revealed the song’s music video will premiere on Sunday, August 30, on VEVO at 11 p.m. EST right after MTV’s VMAs.

Bieber is performing his new single live at the VMAs ceremony in Los Angeles along with another track, as he revealed to local radio station Power 106’s “The Cruz Show” in a pre-taped interview which aired yesterday.

The video sneak peek opens with Justin staring intensely at something or someone unknown in the rain-backdropped close-up. The scene then switches to a masked interloper bursting through a door, before another showing the shirtless Biebs in bed with video love interest, former Playboy model, Xenia Deli.

At that point, our hero gets kidnapped and is seen trying to fight off his attackers with a punch. Bound. The Brad Furman-directed video also features a cameo from actor John Leguizamo. The video is strongly rumored to show nudity and a degree of faux-violence. In fact, Leguizamo himself screenshot a glimpse of Bieber and Deli in bed (in the video) and posted it to his Instagram account. He captioned it, “This is a nasty nasty video. Very inappropriate that’s y I did it! Ha ha!”

Big screen director Furman (2011’s The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), 2013’s Runner Runner) helming of the music video, indicates Bieber will be unveiling a short film after the VMAs. If views of the visual are high, it will substantially boost the progress of the “What Do You Mean?” single once it makes its expected high entry onto Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

As will Bieber’s performance and chat on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, on September 2, and his just announced week long residency in TODAY’s summer concert series, which will include interviews and end with performances on September 10, and 11.

Justin’s celebrity-assisted social media campaign, the high quality lyrics video (which is now approaching 8 million views), and mini-movie to come, underline Billboard’s recent behind-the-scenes interview with key names involved in Bieber’s comeback.

Citing Def Jam CEO Steve Bartels — who heads up the record label Bieber is signed — the CEO said, the extensive roll-out of “What Do You Mean” reflects the “music, visuals and overall creative marketing” of Bieber’s next studio album.

For his part, the Biebs tweeted a message thanking fans after the single stormed to the top of numerous iTunes charts, writing, “I’m overwhelmed, humbled, and grateful. I didn’t know how you would all accept me. Thank you. #WhatDoYouMean thank you.”

Justin also personally confirmed the release date of his next album and invited fans to pre-order it to unlock album art.

Roll on Sunday. That music video looks as if it’s going to become a talking point for the ages.
