Jessica Lange And Return To ‘AHS’: ‘She’ll Be Back,’ Says Ryan Murphy, Plus, Two Seasons Of ‘American Horror Story’ Next Year?

The upcoming season of FX hit show American Horror Story won’t be starring Jessica Lange for the first time since the series started. That news was confirmed early this year when Lange said in interview that she loved being four characters in the four seasons of AHS, but said, “Yes, I’m done,” as the Inquisitr previously reported.

In a new interview with AHS co-creator, Ryan Murphy, he stated that the award-winning actress may not be permanently gone from American Horror Story and there is a big chance Jessica Lange will return to AHS. Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy said that they miss Lange and they want her to come back. It seems that the feeling is mutual.

Jessica Lange will be starring in a Broadway show in 2016 produced by Murphy, and that is what’s keeping her busy. However, if they create a schedule that will work with Lange’s other commitments, there is a big chance that we’ll see Jessica Lange back in American Horror Story.

“I’ve been talking to her. It’s always possible. I’m trying to deal with her play schedule. Jessica is always about the character. She’ll be back — she’s not gone forever. But that’s the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back we just have to come up with something.

According to a separate Entertainment Weekly report, American Horror Story may have two seasons in 2016, instead of the usual one season each year schedule they’ve had since season 1. The following of the series has only grown since season 1 premiered in 2011, and last year’s American Horror Story: Freakshow had the most Emmy nods. So, with that in mind, Murphy and his team are thinking of presenting twice the horror next year.

“Next year we might do a fall American Horror Story and a spring.”

Murphy says that they are doing something that they have never done — having two groups of writers for the show.

“Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we’re crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark.”

Could Jessica Lange be returning in one of the seasons next year?

Meanwhile, fans of AHS are excited for season 5 entitled, American Horror Story: Hotel. Although Jessica Lange will not be appearing this season, one of the people fans are excited about to see is Lady Gaga. The Huffington Post reports that Lady Gaga plays the owner of a hotel, Hotel Cortez, and she is a socialite who manages to retain her good looks by drinking blood. Lady Gaga seems to be excited to be joining the cast, too.

“I’ve just been weeping while I’m here because I have returned to something I’ve believed in so much, which is the art of darkness. It’s not something that everyone understand, but, for the people that do — Horror Story fans, my fans — there is a true connection between us, and it’s a language within itself.”

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on October 7 on FX. Meanwhile, take a look at the teaser below to have a preview of the horror that’s to come.
