Will There Be A Baby On ‘Castle’ This Season? [Spoilers]

Castle is back with a new season and a bunch of radical changes. The Inquisitr reported that Richard Castle is now working full time as a private investigator, and Beckett is now the captain of her unit.

But what else is brewing on this season of Castle? Martha has moved out, and Alexis is also striking out on her own, showing her father that she is no longer just his little girl.

According to TV Guide, this season of Castle will have a new delivery, as Ryan and his wife are expecting their second child, according to show creator Terrence Paul Winter.

“We have some exciting news for the Ryan family: They’re expecting another kid,” Winter says. “Ultimately, that’s going to make Ryan even more paranoid and more excited about trying to make more money. When he sees Beckett rising up in the ranks, the boys realize it’s time for them to start looking at their futures, which is going to create some tension and conflict between them.”

But will the arrival of new baby Ryan mean that a Castle baby won’t be happening this season, or will baby Ryan create baby fever for Beckett and Castle?

An even bigger rumor is above season 8 being Nathan Fillion’s last, thus bringing Castle to an end. According to the VCPost, Castle star Nathan Fillion has made some comments lately, particularly at Chicago Wizard World Comic Con, about roles in his future, and his possible role in Booster Gold.

“I think I could take a pretty good crack at Booster Gold. That’s kind of my niche: show-offy, vain… I think I could handle that. Not too bright. I think Ambush Bug – you like that? A little bit off his rocker, you’d never see my face. But I think Greatest American Hero is due for a reboot.”

Can Fillion take on this new role and still play the lead on Castle? While no plans have been announced for the superhero film, Fillion is obviously interested. Stana Katic has agreed that an end game has to be in sight to end the series.

“If the character is complete, if there is nowhere else to go creatively, then I think it’s better to stop when you’re on top,” Katic told TV Line. “For me it’s about art over finance, and as long as we’re creating something that is compelling and that has somewhere to go, then we’re good to go.”
