Justin Bieber Lookalike Tobias Strebel Dies At 35: Drugs, Boyfriend Or Plastic Surgery Addiction To Blame? ‘Botched’ Star Dr. Paul Nassif Comments

Justin Bieber lookalike Tobias Strebel wanted more than anything to look like his idol. Tobias confessed his longings when he starred on the TV show Botched. Strebel shelled out over $100,000 to achieve that Justin’s look of his dreams. But now the Bieber lookalike has died at 35, reported the Los Angeles Times.

Strebel, who also used the name Toby Sheldon, had been reported missing for almost 10 days. The Justin Bieber lookalike was a songwriter and a singer, and no one had reported seeing him since Aug. 17, 6 p.m., in Hollywood, California, the land where dreams sometimes come true.

But for Tobias, the dreams have died. Strebel was found dead in a Motel 6 in the San Fernando Valley. Although drugs reportedly were in the room where he was discovered, details of how he died are not known.

What is known: Justin’s would-be mirror image spent five years to achieve that appearance, as well as thousands of dollars. In addition to an appearance on the plastic surgery documentary series Botched, the Bieber lookalike starred on My Strange Addiction to focus on why he wanted to look like Justin.

And the 35-year-old previously explained why he chose Justin as his role model.

“What brought me to Bieber was the whole package: the full cheeks, the full temples, the bright open eyes, the full luscious lips, and facial framing … [he’s] just extraordinarily beautiful,” explained Strebel.

Describing Strebel, his manager Gina Rodriguez praised him as gentle, caring, and kind. Gina emphasized his dedication to music.

“For all the slings and arrows put forth against him, he always held his head high, treated everyone with respect, and had a warmth and glow to him that made anyone around him smile. He has a genuine talent and love for songwriting and it showed in everything he did.”

But what really caused Tobias’ death, and did his passion to look like his idol Justin contribute to his death? The Bieber lookalike was candid about his plastic surgery addiction, reported E News.

And Strebel admitted he felt he needed more procedures for happiness.

“I would say I’m like 80 percent happy. I do think I can be one hundred percent happy if I just invest more time, effort and money into the face. I’m addicted to plastic surgery.”

When Botched star Dr. Paul Nassif learned that the Justin Bieber lookalike had died, he expressed his sorrow and shock, reported the Daily Mail.

Remembering Tobias, who was on his plastic surgery docu-series a year before he died, Dr. Nassif expressed his sympathy to Strebel’s family, using the Bieber lookalike’s stage name of Toby Sheldon.

“My deepest condolences go out to the family of Toby Sheldon. He was good person with a great heart,” wrote the plastic surgeon.

Tobias was in candid in how he approached his goal of looking like Justin.

“I want to look like Justin Bieber used to look when he was really young, and I just always bring the picture from him from two years ago to my surgeons and say, “Okay, this is what I want to model myself after,” said Strebel.

In terms of the cause of death, sources said drugs were present in the motel room where Tobias was found. He had vanished following a split from his boyfriend.
