Chelsea O’Donnell: Rosie’s Adopted Daughter Leaves Home To Live With Birth Mother

Chelsea O’Donnell, Rosie’s adopted daughter, left home and was missing for a few days. She was found safe, but she soon left again to live with her birth mother.

The drama with Chelsea O’Donnell continues. Rosie reported her 17-year-old daughter missing August 18, but thankfully, she was found by the police.

Chelsea O’Donnell disappeared August 11 and was reported missing by her adoptive mother, Rosie O’Donnell. The girl was found the following week at the home of Steven Sheerer, who was arrested last Friday, according to NBC.

The report indicates that Sheerer was arrested after police discovered inappropriate behavior between the suspect and the minor. Chelsea O’Donnell’s mom, Rosie, authorized police to look at her daughter’s cell phone, where they allegedly discovered the evidence. The man supposedly sent the teen a nude photo.

Investigators searched the home and took away other evidence, including a computer and digital equipment. Authorities don’t believe the girl was hurt while in Sheerer’s company and said she suffered from an emotional illness and had not taken her medication.

However, Chelsea O’Donnell is once again making news for her behavior after being reunited with Rosie O’Donnell. The teen recently turned 18, which makes her an adult, and she decided to leave the home in which she was raised to live with her birth mother, Deanna Micoley, in Wisconsin.

Rosie’s publicist made a statement to ABC News about the situation concerning Chelsea O’Donnell.

“Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother. This was her choice.”

Chelsea O’Donnell is one of four adopted children from Rosie and former wife Kelli Carpenter’s marriage. In addition, O’Donnell adopted another child with ex-wife Michelle Rounds. The former The View host’s rep said that Rosie will not make any comments about her daughter’s decision to leave home.

As for the man who was found with Chelsea O’Donnell, he remains in jail charged with endangering the welfare of a child and the distribution of obscenity. If convicted, he could face over five years in jail, according to Us Weekly.

Sheerer’s lawyer, Robert Tarver, says he plans to offer the court evidence to prove his client is innocent of the charges.

“”Everyone’s been left with the notion that he’s some sort of predator and, quite frankly, nothing could be further from the truth and we’re able to show that.”

It remains unclear why Chelsea O’Donnell decided to leave her home with Rosie and her siblings.
