Sorry, Lana Del Rey Fans! Mark Ronson Not Involved With ‘Honeymoon’ Album

Sorry, Lana Del Rey fans. Mark Ronson claims that he doesn’t want to “crap all over your excitement,” but it turns out he wasn’t really involved on the songstress’ highly anticipated new album, Honeymoon, after all.

After announcing that he was working with Lana Del Rey in the recording studio, the producer has backtracked on his comments and revealed that he won’t be on Del Rey’s latest release at all. Earlier this year, the British musician spilled the beans to Interview Magazine when he blabbed that he would be on the seductive crooner’s fourth studio album.

“I’m going to do some recording with Lana Del Rey today and tomorrow. I found this cool old studio out here [in Los Angeles]. She has some songs and I said I had some demo ideas, and if they are any good, then maybe she’ll like them and we’ll go from there.”

Lana Del Rey’s fans assumed that Mark Ronson would be heavily involved in her upcoming album, Honeymoon. He revealed in his new interview with Digital Spy that what he said wasn’t completely true.

“I hate to crap all over your excitement, but we just worked a couple days together and I think she’s amazing, but we didn’t actually end up doing anything for her album.”

Mark also admitted that he probably should have kept quiet during his interview! It’s obvious that the DJ and record producer regrets saying that he was planning to work with Lana. It sounds like things didn’t work out between them after all. Chalk it off to creative differences between the musicians.

“I said it and I shouldn’t have opened my big mouth, but I love that track ‘Honeymoon’ and the stuff I’ve heard from the record is great.”

Last month, Del Rey released her first official single “Honeymoon.” However, she didn’t release a music video for the song. She then released her second single “High by the Beach,” followed by a new video days later. The video features Del Rey sauntering around her Malibu beach home as a helicopter tries to get a picture of the sordid siren. Del Rey then pulls out a rifle from her guitar case and shoots down the helicopter with just one shot.

Lana has also been teasing her fans the details on her Honeymoon album. She revealed the album’s artwork and release date, which is Sept. 18. Lana also revealed her favorite track, “Terrence Loves You,” and the album’s full tracklist.

Earlier this year, Del Rey hinted that her new LP will be “very different” from her 2014 release, Ultraviolence.

“It’s very different from the last one and similar to the first two, ‘Born to Die’ and ‘Paradise.’ I finished my last one in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It’s growing into something I really like. I’m kind of enjoying sinking into this nourish feel for this one. It’s been good.”

As fans wait for the album’s release, it’s been reported that Lana Del Rey was featured on The Weeknd’s new album, Beauty Behind The Madness. Are you sad to hear that Mark Ronson wasn’t involved in Del Rey’s upcoming album? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
