Jessica Biel To Be Honored For Her Work Supporting LGBT Community
Jessica Biel might be best known by most for her work in front of the camera, but the actress is set to be honored for her efforts behind the scenes. Jessica Biel and her husband Justin Timberlake are both going to be given awards for their work supporting the LGBT community at this year’s annual GLSEN Respect Awards.
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake will take home the Inspiration Award, which is the highest honor the organization holding the awards can give. Jessical Biel and her hubby are being honored for their efforts in supporting the gay and lesbian community as well as “for their long-standing commitment to improving the lives of children.” Billboard reports that past recipients of this particular honor include Bob Greenblatt, Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg, Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak, and Julia Roberts and Danny Moder.
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are joining a growing list of celebrities that have taken him this award since the GLSEN ceremony was first born back in 2004. The ceremony certainly has a number of high profile honorees, but there are also plenty of high profile actors and actresses who are presenting the awards at this year’s event as well. According to Variety, Jessica Biel will be sharing the stage with this year’s co-hosts, which will include Matt Bomer and Simon Halls, Jessica Capshaw and Christopher Gavigan, Greg Berlanti, Brad Bessey and Frank Sanchez, Edison Briones, Kevin Brockman and Dan Berendsen, Jess Cagle, Terry Clark, Donald De Line, Mike Irvin, Richard Konigsberg and Craig Olsen, George Kotsiopoulos, Michael Lombardo and Sonny Ward, Corey Palent, Jonathan Rollo and Joey Gonzalez, Mimi Slavin, and Ben Spector.
Jessica Biel has actually been keeping a lower profile when it comes to her acting career since she married Justin Timberlake and gave birth to their first child. The couple have also whethered a number of rumors and talk about infidelity, though it appears they are still going strong. The actress has also gotten quite a bit of talk for some of the more vapid reasons, as there has been one article after another talking about how quickly she was able to bounce back from giving birth, as far as her body goes. It’s a safe bet that both Justin Timberlake and his famous wife would rather be talked about for getting these kinds of awards. At least for now, Jessica Biel is getting her wish.
