Last night at 12 a.m. pacific, Diablo III was finally unleashed in North America after over a decade since the release of its predecessor–and, just as about everyone predicted, the launch wasn’t exactly smooth sailing for Blizzard.

Diablo III fans across all regions–Asia, Europe and the Americas–were struck with all sorts of errors, from the dreaded “Error #37″ message you receive when the login server is full, to the mysterious “Error #3006,” which Blizzard says can be caused by a number of things.

Fortunately, most of the problems that were plaguing each region in the first few hours after Diablo III‘s launch seem to have been addressed, but there are still a few lingering problems–one of which is temporarily game-breaking.

Over on the Diablo III forums, users are reporting (via Kotaku) that a game-breaking glitch can occur while playing as the Demon Hunter class if you give your Templar a piece of gear before he officially becomes your companion (you’ll receive a prompt). Should you trade him an item, you’ll be kicked out to the main screen, and you’ll be presented with the “Error #3006″ message, which will persist until Blizzard fixes it.

Fortunately, a Blizzard representative said that the developer is aware of the problem and is working on getting out a fix as soon as possible. The glitch appears to only impact Demon Hunters, but you should avoid trading your Templar any items before his recruitment regardless of your class, just to be safe.
