Anna Duggar Divorce: Church Leaders, Family Members May Be Leading Anna To Stay With Her Cheating Husband

Anna Duggar is being encouraged to divorce cheating husband Josh as more news of his infidelity comes to light, but the advice of fans may be drowned out by some closer to Anna who are trying to convince her to keep the marriage together.

Anna has been at the center of a string of controversies related to her 19 Kids and Counting star husband. Several weeks ago, it was revealed that Josh had molested a number of young girls when he was a teenager, and Anna came out publicly to say that she and her husband had worked through the problems and stayed together.

But then the other revelation came — that Anna’s husband was signed up for the dating site Ashley Madison, which promotes discreet infidelity. It appears the new could continue to get worse, as the first person came forward to admit an affair with Josh. Adult film star Danica Dillon said in an interview with In Touch Weekly that she had “terrifying” sex with Duggar and that he later apologized for being so rough.

Amid the controversy, it appears that many people are pushing Anna Duggar away from divorce. Some have suggested that Anna may even take some of the blame for his cheating.

“Anna will not leave him,” a source told People. “Maybe not publicly, ever, but privately, there will be some suggestion of whether or not she should have been more aware of the pressures Josh was under, of the issues he was facing, and how she could have better counseled him or helped him … Divorce is not even something that will be discussed.”

It appears that the Duggar family church could be dissuading Anna from divorce, as well. The family follows the teaching of Bill Gothar and his Institute in Basic Life Principles. Starcasm found that the IBLP seems to encourage scorned wives to take back their cheating husbands.

One article, titled “Can a hopeless marriage be restored?“, noted as follows

“Ron came clean with me and confessed his hidden moral failures. He first told me that he had experienced moral failure for many years by watching pornography in hotels while traveling for business. Then he told me that he had been unfaithful with at least four different women in the early years of our marriage …

Satan had him bound with guilt from the adultery and had pulled him into continued failure with pornography. Throughout our married life, I continually asked Ron if he was failing morally and if there was anything wrong, but he always said no. Now, at last, he was being honest. After he came clean, I also confessed my failures to him.”

The writer later said that her husband’s confession brought them closer together and closer to God. In another article, a woman who found out that her husband had been continually cheating reminded by a friend, “What about your own sin?”

“Her question shocked me—my sin? My husband was the horrible sinner who had hurt me so badly, and I was the innocent victim! Now she told me to look at my own sin? In my mind, my sin didn’t even begin to compare with what Marc had done. I became angry as she gently told me I needed to take my eyes off Marc and put them on myself… Gradually, God revealed my own sin to me, which was just as bad as my husband’s failures.”

Despite the controversial teachings, there are still some who are trying to convince Anna Duggar to divorce her husband. Anna’s brother, Daniel Keller, has called Josh a “pig” and advised his sister to leave him for good.
