Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Michael Bennett Calls Out Sam Bradford, Mediocre NFL Quarterbacks

Seattle Seahawks rumors have Michael Bennett in the news again. Bennett was asked on Tuesday (August 25) about a hit that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs put on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford. A report from CBS Sports states that it took place when Bradford was handing off the ball and it drew a delayed flag from an official on the field. It also gave Bennett ammunition for his latest tirade against another NFL player.

“Quarterbacks get protected more than any other player. I mean, he gets hit in his knees and he’s about to cry. ‘They hit me in my legs.’ Everybody gets hit in their legs. Every play somebody tries to hit me in my legs. There’s some mediocre quarterbacks in the NFL that make a lot of money. You take a guy like Sam Bradford — he’s never played really in the last three years, but he’s made more money than most guys in the NFL.”

Bennett isn’t wrong about the double-standard, but he has also been at the center of past Seattle Seahawks rumors due to his comments. It was during the 2014 NFL Playoffs where Bennett called (now teammate) Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham “soft” and “overrated” during an interview. It made national news, especially since Graham, then with the New Orleans Saints, is considered one of the best tight ends in the NFL. Bennett was referring to Graham and his blocking abilities at the time, something the Seahawks need him to excel at during the 2015 NFL season.

Bennett has never been quiet about the Tom Brady situation either, calling the main guy in the “Deflategate” controversy a “cheater” on multiple occasions. Seahawks fans might long for a day where he just plays the game and stays out of the press, but that is part of the personality that Bennett puts on every day. It’s also one of the reasons he keeps asking the front office for another raise during each offseason. His mindset is that there is no downside to asking for it, and that the worst response he is going to get from the general manager is a “no” to his requests.

While many Seattle Seahawks rumors are still focused on Kam Chancellor and his holdout for more money, it’s almost welcoming when Michael Bennett decides to go after a new sound bite. Unless, of course, this is the bulletin board material that Sam Bradford has been looking for as the 2015 NFL regular season approaches.
