WWE News: Backstage Update On WWE’s Reaction To Bad Ratings For ‘WWE RAW’

Was there anything visibly wrong with WWE RAW this past Monday evening? The week leading up to the show, rumors ran rampant around the WWE Universe that a huge angle would shock every WWE fan, young and old. With the emphatic return of the Dudley Boyz, the WWE’s Tag-Team division got a lot more interesting.

At the same time, WWE RAW came with a huge surprise. That wasn’t the only shock that night, too. During the main event, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon unveiled what Seth Rollins thought was his new statue. Instead, Sting appeared and took care of business in the ring. After the Authority was rid of the squared circle, Sting grabbed the WWE championship.

On top of both of those moments, WWE RAW had its high points and low points. One of those included three of the best female wrestlers in the WWE. WWE officials booked another six-man tag-team match between Team PCB and Team Bella. Brie Bella and Becky Lynch worked most of the match. The WWE Universe got rowdy.

The good outweighed the bad, but the ratings for WWE RAW didn’t reflect that. WWE’s flagship program accrued 3.271 million viewers on Monday, which is slightly down from their score of 3.777 the week prior to that. How is the WWE dealing with the lower ratings? According to Cageside Seats, the WWE isn’t happy with the low ratings of WWE RAW.

“WWE is apparently extremely disappointed with the ratings for Raw this week and if the numbers don’t rebound next week we could see something drastic. It does generally take a week to catch up after unadvertised surprises like this past Monday.”

Any time WWE has a great show, a major part of it is the writing, wrestling and atmosphere they create. What isn’t often thought of is the crowd at the show. Brooklyn’s crowd all three nights was immaculate. At NXT Takeover, the crowd was truly in love with the entire night. Even at SummerSlam, which was controversial, the WWE Universe was loud.

WWE RAW had one of the best nights in a long time because of the return of Sting and the Dudley Boyz. It just so happens that the Divas Revolution didn’t have the best night. Normally, the chemistry between the opponents is quite impressive. One thing that is imperative is that the stables cannot last forever. Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte must get over on their own. Defeating Team Bella will make that happen.
