Shannon Beador Now ‘Not Very Close’ To Vicki Gunvalson, Keeping Distance From Meghan King Edmonds

On Shannon Beador’s first season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, she instantly connected with Vicki Gunvalson. The two forged a good friendship and stuck up for one another throughout the season. On the season 9 reunion show, Shannon was seated right next to Vicki. Yet it seems that their friendship is now not what it used to be.

In an interview with All About The Tea, posted on Monday, Shannon, in response to the question of whether she and Vicki have mended things since when they filmed Brooks Ayers’ birthday dinner, revealed that she and Vicki are now “not very close.” Shannon copped the change in relationship to how much Vicki has on her plate right now.

“We’ve spoken…but we’re not very close. She has a lot going on so I don’t talk to her often. She’s very busy.”

On last week’s episode, Shannon and her husband David Beador went out to dinner with Vicki and Brooks to celebrate Brooks’ birthday. Shannon tried to tell Vicki that she had heard that some of the other women in the group, Heather Dubrow, Tamra Judge and Meghan King Edmonds, met with a psychic and the psychic told them that he didn’t “see” Brooks having cancer. Vicki not only shut Shannon down, she angrily lashed out at her for trying to bring up the subject. Despite Brooks trying to calm her down, Vicki got up and left the dinner while continuing to yell at Shannon.

In her Bravo TV blog post recapping that episode, Vicki explained that she blew up at Shannon because she wanted a drama and stress-free night for Brooks. Vicki acknowledged that her reaction was out of line and that she owed Shannon an apology.

“I owe Shannon an apology, and am sorry for reacting the way I did. I just wish she would have informed me about this psychic issue privately before or afterwards and not while we were filming dinner. I don’t think EVERYTHING needs to be filmed and I wish things were handled differently by both of us.”

Besides Vicki Gunvalson, Shannon Beador is also not very close to Meghan King Edmonds. Shannon’s distance from Meghan, however, is intentional. She told All About The Tea that while viewers will see her and Meghan get along better as the season progresses, she doesn’t like what Meghan is now publicly saying about her.

“You’ll see as the season progresses that we start to mend fences. Am I happy today with some of her commentary about me? I think it’s very below the belt and I have let her know that so I’m keeping my distance at this point.”

On Monday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Vicki and Meghan got into a very heated argument while at Heather Dubrow’s luncheon. After Meghan thanked Shannon Beador for recommending a doctor for her husband’s ex-wife, who has since passed away from cancer, Meghan told Vicki that she understands that she’s upset with her. Vicki immediately lashed out at Meghan for questioning Brooks’ cancer and accused her of faking concern about his treatment plan. Vicki threatened to take Meghan down.

As the episode aired, Meghan King Edmonds made clear that she isn’t afraid of Vicki Gunvalson. Meghan tweeted that she would never kiss up to Vicki.

A preview for next week’s episode shows that the drama between the two only intensifies.
