One Direction disbanding rumors have now become credible reports, say multiple sources. As the sound of hearts breaking resounds around the world, One Direction band members are planning a hiatus beginning in March 2016, reported People.

Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan have their own projects that they want to tackle during what will be at minimum a 12-month hiatus, said a source.

And although One Direction is reported to release its fifth album in 2015, no tour will take place as a result of the disbanding decision. However, the album will be hyped throughout the month of February, perfect for breaking hearts on Valentine’s Day.

Also confirming that One Direction is disbanding was E! News. An insider revealed that although it’s a hiatus, it’s not a forever split.

“They are taking a hiatus so they can work on individual projects for a while but they are not splitting up,” emphasized the source. “They will remain together and plan to work together in the future.”

In addition, the insider shared that because Liam, Harry, Louis, and Niall are pals, they won’t go far from each other. One Direction has a strong support system among the band members.

“They are great friends and fully support one another. They are very aware that they are able to work on their own stuff as well as remain together. This is an exciting time for them creatively and as a group,” added the source.

The new music video “Drag Me Down” marked a milestone for One Direction as the first created since Zayn Malik exited. Malik explained that he made the decision to leave the band because he wanted to take a time-out from the constant public scrutiny.

“[I want to be a] normal 22-year-old who is able to relax,” said Zayn.

But later, after Malik achieved a record deal to kick-start his career as a solo artist, he tweeted his pride in his future on Twitter.

“I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA!!” revealed the 22-year-old.

What does the future hold for One Direction after breaking up? Look for a future that allows them the freedom to pursue their individual projects while working together upon occasion, said a source.

“They love working together. They envision a future together but with the freedom to do other things as well,” added the insider of what happens after they split.

As for the impact on One Direction after Malik left, the band initially described themselves as gutted, as the Inquisitr reported.

“Gutted [but] 100 per cent committed,” summed up the group prior to the hiatus news.
