Tracy Morgan Wedding: Comedian Marries Fiancee Megan Wollover In Emotional Ceremony

Tracy Morgan married longtime girlfriend Megan Wollover on Sunday in an emotional ceremony a little more than a year after an accident nearly claimed his life.

Morgan and Wollover wed in what was described as an intimate ceremony on Sunday night. The couple exchanged vows in front of a small number of family and friends.

The couple had been engaged since 2011 and had a daughter, Maven, in 2013.

While the wedding was a joyous occasion, the imprints of the June 2014 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike were all over the ceremony.

“After almost losing Tracy last year, I am so grateful to finally be married to the love of my life,” Wollover told People magazine.

“We have been through so much and our love is stronger for it,” she added.

The accident — in which a Walmart truck slammed into the back of a limo van with Morgan and two others — left him with severe injuries. Morgan had head trauma, a broken leg, and broken ribs.

Tracy Morgan went through a long and tedious recovery after the accident, which took the life of his friend and fellow comedian James McNair. But Tracy used the wedding as motivation.

“I don’t want to walk my wife down the aisle with a cane or in a wheelchair,” he told People magazine in June. “So I had to go hard with the therapy … I had to get better. There was no ifs, ands or buts about it.”

Tracy Morgan has recovered in other ways. Not only is he walking again, but his career is starting to take off again as well. He is set to make his return to Saturday Night Live in October, hosting the third show of the upcoming season.

It marked a milestone for Morgan, who back in June said he was not yet ready to focus on comedy again.

“I can’t wait to get back to (comedy), but right now, my goal is just to heal and get better,” he said on the Today show (via the Associated Press). “Because I’m not 100 percent yet. I’m not. And when I’m there, you’ll know it. I’ll get back to making you laugh. I promise you.”

Morgan is a longtime Saturday Night Live member and followed it up with a featured role on the Tina Fey-led sitcom 30 Rock.

This is not the first wedding for Tracy Morgan. He was married to high school sweetheart Sabina for 24 years, splitting up in 2009.
