Woman Rescues Stray Dog Who Saved Her From Attack By Men On Beach

Dogs are often called man’s best friend. Georgia Bradley, 25, found hers while she was on vacation in Greece. While she was on a remote beach in Crete, two men approached her and asked her to go for a drink. When she refused, one of the men grabbed her arm. That’s when her canine heroine, a little black dog she later named Pepper, appeared out of nowhere. Seeming to sense danger, the dog barked protectively at the men, remaining steadfastly by Bradley’s side, licking her hand comfortingly. The two men then beat a hasty retreat. It’s often said that dogs can read people’s body language and determine whether they are friend or foe. Bradley stated the following, according to The Herald.

“Pepper shot out of nowhere, jumped up at me and began barking and licking my hand, and that made the men think twice….She saved me. She must have noticed something was wrong.”

When she went back to her apartment on vacation, the dog followed her, even trusting Bradley as she petted her fur. They had an instant bond, as if they had known each other forever. It was a very heart-wrenching scene when Bradley was driving to the airport to leave Greece, as the pint-sized dog ran futilely after Bradley’s car, perhaps never to be seen again.

Bradley was a student at Plymouth University in England and after returning from vacation couldn’t stop thinking about the special canine. She made two trips back to Crete to find and rescue the dog over a five-week period, traveling thousands of miles back and forth, according to the Huffington Post.

Like a touching scene from a movie, Bradley eventually found Pepper again on the beach and had it confirmed that the dog was indeed a stray. The dog had to be quarantined for 21 days before returning to England. Pepper was microchipped, vaccinated, and even given a pet passport.

While in boarding, Bradley learned that Pepper was pregnant with puppies. The puppies arrived a week after Pepper was reunited with Bradley on her third trip to Greece to gather her precious hero dog and bring her back to England. Bradley stated the following regarding her escapade.

“It has been such a crazy journey. But I am over the moon. Pepper has settled in brilliantly.”

Do you believe that Pepper did sense that Bradley was in danger when she barked at the men? Have you ever had a hero pet? Please leave your comments below.
