Kelly Clarkson’s Pregnant Again! Singer Explains Why She Was ‘Frightened’ To Have Second Child [Video]
Kelly Clarkson spilled some serious news at her Los Angeles concert Wednesday, August 19 — she’s pregnant with baby number two! Clarkson, who opened up to People magazine about her first pregnancy last February, expressed some concerns about having a second child. But Kelly couldn’t be more happy about being pregnant now!
During the interview, Clarkson confessed, “I’m frightened to have another one. I want another one — like in a couple years.” But the real question is why Kelly wasn’t sure about getting pregnant again so soon. The reason? Her daughter, River is “so perfect.”
Kelly explained that River, who arrived June 12, 2014, has been such an easy baby, the singer couldn’t imagine a more perfect child. According to People, River has such an open personality and that she’s “the happiest baby on the planet.” Kelly continued to explain that because River has been such a good sleeper, “I feel like something horrible’s gonna come out of me. Because she’s so great — like, the yin to her yang,” Clarkson joked.

But her opinion has changed now that she’s pregnant with her second child, and Kelly Clarkson wants to think only positive thoughts, exclaiming, “I won’t put that out there. I’m gonna project happiness.”
E! News reports that at her Los Angeles concert, Kelly Clarkson was all smiles as she tearfully told her audience the happy news that she’s pregnant again. Although the announcement was unplanned, it was met with cheers and excitement. To a packed crowd, Clarkson confessed, “This is not how I wanted to announce [that I’m pregnant]. My makeup artist is backstage hating me. I didn’t want you to think I’m on pills or something.”
Clarkson added through her tears, “I would like to apologize to my husband. This was not planned. I’m just so hormonal.” Kelly also assured her fans that even though the last time she was pregnant she had health issues, this time “[e]verything is great, I haven’t vomited yet. That’s a win y’all.”
According to People, when Kelly was pregnant with River, her health issues took a lot out of her. The singer confessed that it was a “bad pregnancy, so I had to take off way more time than normal.” To make matters worse, Clarkson initially lost her beautiful singing voice, causing her to dive into a deep depression after she was pregnant. “Afterwards was the part where I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day,” Kelly explained. Clarkson continued, “I was like, ‘Oh God, I’m not going to be a singer anymore.’…I didn’t know what I was going to do.”
At her Los Angeles concert, however, it was clear Kelly Clarkson’s voice is just fine, and her fans are certainly elated she’s pregnant again!
